Hanukkah Festivus Ugly Sweater White Elephant Extravaganza!

Join Jews & Brews for our annual Hanukkah party! This year’s party will feature a White Elephant gift exchange, a sweater/outfit contest, and the traditional Festivus airing of grievances (details for all three below). We will be returning to one of our favorite midtown bars, Slattery’s!
White Elephant Gift Exchange:
This is not mandatory to attend, but if you would like to participate you are asked to bring a wrapped unisex gift valuing approximately $15-$20, the wilder better. There will be a table to drop your gift, and a form to write your name on. This form does not represent the order in which you pick your gift, it will just act as a list for us to gather the correct people for the gift exchange! Let the host (Lauren) know if you have any questions! NOTE: DO NOT BRING TRASH. One year people brought literal garbage. Please bring something you would like to receive as a gift. When in doubt, a bottle of wine is usually appreciated! Ask the host for ideas if you’re stuck!
Sweater/Outfit Contest:
Ugly/festive clothing is not mandatory, but it is encouraged! The group will vote on the best dressed and there will be a prize awarded to the winner.
Festivus:
This year’s party will fall on the 25-year anniversary of Festivus, so naturally, we will be incorporating the best fake holiday into our epic extravaganza! If you’re not familiar with Festivus, be sure to check out the hilarious Seinfeld episode. Per Festivus tradition, we will have a form where you can fill out your grievances (try to keep them PG, for example, “Tourists taking up the whole sidewalk, why do they need to walk arm in arm?”) and the host will read them out loud during the party!
