SUMMARY:Songwriters’ Showcase
DESCRIPTION:Tribe 12 presents a special performance with three local Philadelphia Jewish singer/songwriters: Rory Michelle Sullivan\, Adina (Amber) Ikeman\, and Jesse Weil. \nRory Michelle Sullivan creates music and gatherings that foster growth\, healing\, and connection by holding space for our humanness\, the unfolding of our lives\, and being who we truly are – with integrity\, grace\, and all of our messy\, beautiful selves – towards a world that is more human\, healthy\, and whole. Hailed as “timeless as the ocean tides” by listeners\, Rory Michelle’s music is rooted in the folk sing-along tradition of Pete Seeger and mixed with singer-songwriter (think Joni Mitchell) and musical theatre influences (think Cole Porter meets Stephen Sondheim) along with heart\, depth\, and just the right amount of playfulness and delight. www.rorymichelle.com \nAdina (Amber) Ikeman quenches your soul and soothes your heart with her award-winning folk/pop songs. Images from her years as a dishwasher and tour guide in Yellowstone National Park and cantorial soloist in Bozeman\, Montana give a living backdrop to her lyrics of self-discovery\, resilience\, and wildness. Her artistry is distinguished by an undeniable combination of classically trained vocals\, insightful lyricism\, engaging storytelling\, and poignant confession. Adina has toured all across the United States and parts of Canada. Hear more at amberikeman.com. \nJesse Weil is an aspiring Rabbi and interdisciplinary artist and educator. Before beginning his studies at RRC\, Jesse was performing in theater productions all over the country. Some of his favorite credits have included Fiddler on the Roof (Motel Kamzoil in the 1st National Broadway Tour)\, Tick\, Tick…Boom! (Jon at Portland Center Stage)\, and Hair (Claude at Pentangle Arts). He has also had the pleasure to debut his own writing at venues such as Ars Nova\, Webster Hall\, and 54 Below. Follow @jesseaweil for updates about his upcoming EP!

He is currently engaged in indie folk\, Klezmer\, contemporary classical music\, modern jazz\, and improvised music. After receiving “Outstanding Musician” status in the IDF and performing at top jazz venues in Tel Aviv (Beit Ha’amudim\, Shablul)\, Nadav received a scholarship to study Jazz Composition at NEC\, working with Frank Carlberg and Jason Moran.
