SUMMARY:Good Jewdy: Tu Bishvat\, A Fruity Jewish Variety Show
DESCRIPTION:Brooklyn’s queer nightlife is blossoming for Tu Bishvat\, the Jewish New Year for the Trees\, and Good Jewdy is here to harvest a night of drag\, ritual\, and radical joy.  \nReturning to C’mon Everybody\, this variety show blends drag\, music\, live art\, and Jewish tradition through a campy\, unapologetically queer lens. Produced and hosted by Brooklyn-based drag artist Harsh Babe\, alongside Chava Goodtime\, Good Jewdy is part of an ongoing series centering how queer Jews are reclaiming minor Jewish holidays\, many historically tied to Israel\, through an explicitly anti-Zionist\, pro-Palestinian foundation.  \nFeaturing: Ella Yurman (Going Down TV)\, Julian Shapiro-Barnum (Recess Therapy\, Celebrity Substitute) leading a Jewish trivia game show\, Una Osato (Jewish Voice for Peace)\, Jenny Romaine (Jews For Racial & Economic Justice)\, live illustration by Molly Crabapple\, a musical comedy act by Esther Fallick of Vulture’s Comics You Should Know for 2025\, drag performances by Alvah Klempt and Julius Nicoy\, and a closing archival Yiddish techno set by Chaia.  \nThis edition also features an exciting\, fundraiser raffle! You’ll have a chance to win a bedazzled kippah\, a gift card from Edith’s BK\, a bag for schlepping by Susan Alexandra\, and more seasonal surprises. All proceeds support the United States Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR) and the replanting of olive trees in Palestine 🌿.  \nDate: Sunday\, February 1\, 2026 | doors at 7\, shows at 8 PM ET  \nLocation: C’mon Everybody (325 Franklin Ave\, Brooklyn)  \nAdditional details: https://www.instagram.com/p/DTMJyEMjyiJ/  \nTicket link: https://dice.fm/event/92wooo-good-jewdy-1st-feb-cmon-everybody-new-york-tickets?lng=en-US

SUMMARY:Boston Symphony Orchestra: This Is America
DESCRIPTION:The Vilna is excited to host the Boston Symphony Orchestra on Beacon Hill. Violinist\, producer\, and 2024 MacArthur Fellow Johnny Gandelsman’s “This Is America” commissioning project was conceived in the summer of 2020\, as COVID-19\, destructive fires\, police brutality\, and political polarization were sweeping the United States. Johnny asked American and US-based composers to reflect on these tumultuous times by writing new compositions for solo violin. The resulting anthology of 28 works represents a snapshot in time\, a representative slice of the creative thought and output in our country. Featuring a broad spectrum of musical genres and composition styles\, This Is America is a collection of deeply personal experiences\, exploring the universal themes of uncertainty\, loss\, isolation\, joy and love. \nJohnny’s work is a product of his life in Moscow\, Israel\, and the United States. \nCheck out one of Johnny’s previous performances below. \n(YouTube video player) \nJohnny Gandelsman \nCalled “a violinist who can do anything” by the Philadelphia Inquirer\, Grammy Award-winning violinist and producer Johnny Gandelsman integrates a wide range of creative sensibilities into a style unique among today’s violinists. Richard Brody of the New Yorker has called Gandelsman “revelatory” in concert\, placing him in the company of “radically transformative” performers like Maurizio Pollini\, Peter Serkin\, and Christian Zacharias. He was a 2024 MacArthur Fellow. \nGandelsman was born in Moscow in 1978\, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1990. He’s lived in NY since 1999.

SUMMARY:Love Isn't Blind | A Comedy/Dating Show Where the Men Can't Speak
DESCRIPTION:F*** the apps.\n\n\nTired of swiping? In this dating experiment\, men compete on stage for one lucky bachelorette\, with the little caveat that the men can’t speak. Through a series of games – which includes calling the boys’ moms and unlocking their phones – we narrow it down to two men. Finally\, we hear their voices\, and the lucky winning man is sent with our bachelorette to the bar for an immediate date. Audience members wear wristbands according to their relationship status\, and a wingcouple (who wears actual wings) helps those of you who are too shy to make a move. This show has been featured on The Tamron Hall Show\, in LA Magazine\, Time Out\, CBS\, and more. \nCreated and hosted by Allison Goldberg. \nWant to be in the show? SUMMARY:Bridges in Sound Concert Series: Spirituals and Beyond
DESCRIPTION:BJ Music Director Dan Nadel curates and leads a yearlong concert series in collaboration with Congregation Rodeph Sholom\, co-sponsored by B’nai Jeshurun. This evening celebrates spirituals and American music with a prophetic voice\, journeying through the deep tradition of African American spirituals and American songs that call us toward justice. It brings forward themes of resilience\, faith\, and liberation that resonate with the Jewish story and spirit. \nThe concert features Nia Drummond on vocals\, Joe Dyson on drums\, and Dan Nadel on guitar and music direction\, offering powerful performances\, rich sound\, and music that crosses traditions and speaks directly to the heart. \nThe Bridges in Sound Concert Series aims to bring together diverse musical traditions and transcultural voices\, exploring the emotional\, historical\, and spiritual threads that connect us through song. This series invites audiences into a space of deep listening and discovery\, where music becomes a shared language of longing\, resilience\, and unity.

SUMMARY:Love Isn't Blind | A Comedy/Dating Show Where the Men Can't Speak
DESCRIPTION:F*** the apps.\n\n\n* Doors at 6:30\, show at 8\, after-party to follow. Come early for food and a custom drink menu\, and stay late for the same. \nTired of swiping? In this dating experiment\, men compete on stage for one lucky bachelorette\, with the little caveat that the men can’t speak. Through a series of games – which includes calling the boys’ moms and unlocking their phones – we narrow it down to two men. Finally\, we hear their voices\, and the lucky winning man is sent with our bachelorette to the bar for an immediate date. Audience members wear wristbands according to their relationship status\, and a wingcouple (who wears actual wings) helps those of you who are too shy to make a move. This show has been featured on the Tamron Hall Show\, in LA Magazine\, on NBC’s California Live\, and more. \nCreated and hosted by Allison Goldberg. \nWant to be in the show? APPLY HERE. \nOr submit your single friends HERE.

Each ticket holder will get light brunch refreshment\, including coffee and bagels\, and mimosas. \nGet your ticket to the play here and make sure to use code MIMOSA to let us know you’re coming. \nAbout the Play:An Enemy of the People follows a small-town doctor who considers himself a proud\, upstanding member of his close-knit community. When he discovers the town’s water supply is polluted\, an issue that risks the lives of all citizens\, he raises the alarm. But he is shaken to his core when those in power\, including his own brother\, try not only to silence him\, but to destroy him. \nDrama Desk Award winner for Outstanding Adaptation and recent Broadway sensation\, Amy Herzog’s work unearths the relevance of Ibsen’s tale for our time\, weighing the cost of standing up to power when pressured into silence. Ibsen’s tale highlights the reverberating power of citizens who go against the status quo to do what’s right by their community.
