SUMMARY:Wine + Wellness Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:JOIN your host Dr. Melissa Sussman for the annual Wine + Wellness fundraiser at FloLo Holistic Penthouse! \nFight the Sunday scaries with a DJ\, kosher wine & beer\, light hors d’oeuvres\, and wellness services that can be purchased à la carte. \nFor an additional cost\, you can experience salt caves\, a sensory float\, acupuncture\, a dry float\, or cupping therapy. \nFundraiser for First Aid and CPR Training: \nThis year\, I am thrilled to collaborate with JOIN Israel once again to offer First Aid and CPR training to 140 at-risk students across six high schools in low socio-demographic populations in southern Israel. \nKnowing how to deliver medical care during emergencies can significantly impact outcomes\, and save lives. Following the events of October 7th\, this knowledge becomes even more crucial. \nThis training will help students build confidence and become more adept at life saving skills. Moreover\, it has the potential to inspire the next generation of first responders\, doctors\, and healthcare professionals\, while equipping them with essential skills that can help them rise out of poverty. \nFor more information contact Dr. Melissa Sussman at melissa.sussman@gmail.com .

SUMMARY:An evening of support for Israel
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an inspiring evening dedicated to rebuilding Kibbutz Nirim after the devastating events of October 7th. We are honored to welcome guest speaker Adele\, a resilient resident of Kibbutz Nirim\, who will share her personal journey and the importance of community support during challenging times. Together\, let’s make a difference and contribute to the restoration of this cherished community. Join us for an evening of hope\, solidarity\, and meaningful fundraising efforts. \nAll proceeds and funds generated from ticket sales and donations are directly allocated to benefit Kibbutz Nirim. \nABOUT ADELE \nAdele Raemer is an American born Israeli who has lived in Kibbutz Nirim\, on the border with the Gaza Strip since 1975. Stationed there as part of her army service in the IDF in 1975\, she fell in love with the community and never left\, even when the Kibbutz was under attack from Gaza terror. She is a passionate advocate for Israel and is a sought-after voice from the Southern border region. A proud Zionist\, she believes that people on both sides of the border deserve better security and quality of life. \nAdele has been an active advocate for her region since 2011. She founded and moderates a 12\,000 member-strong Facebook group called Life on the Border with Gaza. The group has members from around the world who rely on news from the group to keep them updated. Throughout all the security escalations since the 2012 Operation Pillar of Defense\, she has remained in her home which is one mile from the Gaza Strip\, in order to bear witness and report what is really happening there. Until Swords of Iron. She has experienced hundreds of rocket attacks over the years and in 2014 one exploded near her bedroom\, riddling the walls with shrapnel while she was in the house. She is a frequent blogger for the Times of Israel\, and has given hundreds of interviews for international and local media including television\, radio\, and print. She has been on numerous international speaking tours to share her experiences about what life on the border is really like. In this capacity she has traveled to Switzerland\, and been sent cross-country through the United States at the request of the Israeli Foreign Ministry\, the Jewish National Fund\, and Jewish Colorado\, among others. Adele was nominated as one of the 10 Jewish Faces who Made Waves in 2018 by Haaretz Newspaper. In December of 2019\, when the United States was hosting the UN Security Council\, she was invited to address the ambassadors\, which she did via Skype from the US embassy offices in Tel Aviv. She is currently part of a prestigious team of citizen advocates trained in Public Diplomacy by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as the National Digital Center in Sderot. \nAdele is a suicide survivor who was widowed in November 2008. She is also a survivor of the Oct 7th\, 2023 massacres\, when she had to hunker down for 11 hours in her saferoom on Kibbutz Nirim. Together with her community she was evacuated to Eilat for over 3 months\, a refugee from her home\, which is a closed war zone. She is currently settling into her temporary apartment in Beer Sheva\, until she can return home. Since that Black Saturday\, she has participated in two delegations which were sent abroad to speak with lawmakers in Washington DC and in Berlin\, Germany. In February she was brought to Nashville\, Tennessee to participate in their annual NRB 2024 media conference and was subsequently invited by the Christian Broadcasting Network to be their honored guest to the 2024 White House Correspondents’ Dinner. As a part of that trip she was interviewed on the 700 Club\, after which she was brought to various communities and media in Dallas\, LA \, Florida. to fund raise for her kibbutz. Adele loves theater\, and regularly participates in amateur theater productions. She sees her civilian public diplomacy as “her Zionism”\, and her best tool for defense of her country\, her region\, her community and her family. Adele is currently actively involved in fund raising to enable her kibbutz to return and rebuild bigger\, better\, safer and stronger.

The tzedakah money has to go to poor Jews and has to be distributed on Purim. Not everyone knows who is poor\, and who is Jewish\, and has the time and ability to find those in need on the right day.\nAs a Rabbi who helps a lot people in need\, Rabbi Yonah is connected to these poor Jewish families and those Jews in need all year round. And they are counting on him to help them in a big way on Purim.\nIf you donate to our campaign\, Rabbi Yonah will distribute the Tzedakah on your behalf to Jews who are in REAL NEED. This money helps them pay off debts\, get their cell phone turned on\, buy a new pair of shoes for their kids from thrift store. It’s a GIANT mitzvah! This year\, the ???????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????? ???????? ????????\, ????????????????????????????\, ???????????? ????????????????????????!\nHow much tzedakah should you give? A lot. Seriously consider giving 10% of your monthly profits to help poor Jews. You will feel very good and do a lot of good in the world. And you will be repaid by Hashem for your kindness.\nAs with the other mitzvot of Purim\, all Jews\, men women and even small children should fulfill this mitzvah.\n➡️ Give Tzedakah: picoshul.org/purimfund
