SUMMARY:Yom HaShoah premiere screening of "ELIE WIESEL: SOUL ON FIRE"
DESCRIPTION:The Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival\, Museum of Tolerance\, and Jewish Story Partners invite you to commemorate Yom Hashoah with a special screening of the new film \n“ELIE WIESEL: SOUL ON FIRE” \nThursday\, April 24 at 6:30 PM\nat the Museum of Tolerance \nJoin the community for an unforgettable evening honoring the legacy of Elie Wiesel\, Nobel laureate and Holocaust survivor\, and learn of his incredible and moving journey through this powerful documentary. \nElie Wiesel was 15 years old when he\, his family\, and his entire close-knit Jewish community were deported to Auschwitz. With his indelible and shattering 1958 memoir Night\, Elie Wiesel eloquently transformed his trauma into literature of the highest order\, helping to shape our collective memory of the Holocaust. \nThis film is told primarily through Wiesel’s own words with unprecedented access to his family and archives\, and is a beautiful tribute to the Holocaust survivor\, author and teacher who dedicated his life to fighting indifference and promoting human rights. \nA Q&A with director Oren Rudavsky moderated by Dr. Stephen Smith\, author and executive director emeritus of the USC Shoah Foundation. \nCommunity Partners include Wilshire Blvd. Temple and Sinai Temple

SUMMARY:Playwriting Tribe
DESCRIPTION:**Please note that due to Passover\, this gathering will be held on Tuesday\, April 22nd\, the fourth Tuesday of the month\, instead of the usual third Tuesday of the month.** \nThis Jewish playwriting group invites writers of all experience levels to share creative space together. The group’s goals are to foster a safe and supportive space for Jewish playwrights\, encourage exploration for new writers\, and provide opportunities to hear work read aloud. \nThe monthly drop-in meetings will include a mix of writing sessions with optional prompts inspired by Jewish themes and reading days with structured feedback. While focused on playwriting\, those interested in other forms of performance writing are welcome to attend to see if the group is a good fit. \nThis group is led by Tribe 12 Fellowship alumni Doriane Feinstein (’19) and Aimee Goldstein (’21)\, co-founders of of Curlyfish Productions.
