SUMMARY:Singles Moroccan Sukkot Party: 30s Edition
DESCRIPTION:For Moroccan Jews\, Sukkot isn’t just one arc in the High Holiday calendar — it’s the heart of the season. In Moroccan tradition Sukkot is known as ‘chag la’ushpizin\,’ “the holiday of welcoming guests\,” and is marked by vibrant hospitality\, abundant food\, and deep spiritual reflection. In that spirit\, we invite 30somethings dating in Philly’s Jewish community to meet new people\, enjoy a feast for the senses\, and walk away with a few soulful insights to carry into the holiday! \nMarrakesh\, a hidden gem in Society Hill\, is not your average dinner out. From the moment you step inside\, prepare to be transported to Morocco — picture low\, plush seating\, colorful tapestries and pillows\, glowing lanterns\, and ornate brass everything. Start with a rosewater hand-washing ritual followed by a vibrant 7-course (!!!) family-style Moroccan feast including dessert. When the belly dancer swings through\, that’s when the dinner party turns into a party-party. \nDesigned as a meaningful lead-up to Sukkot\, the evening will also help you welcome the holiday with intention as Tribe 12’s rabbinic intern Adina Ikeman and Tribe 12 matchmaker Danielle Selber (who is a Moroccan Jew) share personal stories and Jewish mystical traditions. \nYour $40 ticket covers the a 7-course feast (tip and tax are already included). Marrakesh is happy to accommodate dietary restrictions\, just speak to a server when you arrive. This venue is BYOB so feel free to bring a bottle to share — an excellent way to break the ice! \nIn the spirit of welcoming guests\, we invite you to bring a friend who has never been to Tribe 12 event and enjoy 20% off each of your tickets when you sign up together. Registration will open soon!

SUMMARY:Yom Kippur at KH
DESCRIPTION:We are looking forward to being together in community for Yom Kippur this year! \nWe are committed to making our events open and accessible to everyone in our community at no cost. At the same time\, there are costs associated with running our programs. The recommended donation for Yom Kippur is $100 per adult. We encourage everyone to give at a level which feels feasible for them while acknowledging the cost to run this event. No one will be turned away due to inability to pay. We also welcome sponsors to help cover the cost to make services possible for all of us\, including those who are unable to pay the suggested donation. \nA full schedule can be found below: \nOctober 1 \nKol Nidre and Ma’ariv – 6:15pm \nOctober 2 \nShacharit and Musaf – 8:30am \nMincha – 1pm \nNeila and Break Fast – 5:30pm \n*Childcare will be provided during Shacharit and Musaf from 10am to 1pm. Kids’ services will take place from 11am to 12pm. \n**Kehillat Harlem strives to make each person feel at home in our prayer space by upholding our commitment to halachah (Jewish law) while working hard to hold our commitments to maximum inclusivity. Our tefillot (prayer services) are liturgically traditional and there is a mehitza (separation between genders) while davening. Daveners (those who pray) sit in the section with which they identify\, and we make space for anyone who identifies outside of the gender binary. Tefillot are male-led and Torah reading is open to community members of any gender identity to read.

SUMMARY:We Were Made for This Repair - 14Y Selah High Holidays 5786
DESCRIPTION:Yom Kippur: What We Hold\, What We Let Go\nDate: Thursday\, October 2\, 2025\, 3-4:30pm\nLocation: 17 Eastern Pkwy\, Brooklyn\, NY 11238 \nYom Kippur is one of our favorite days of the year\, not because it’s easy\, but because it’s full of potential! (If you can break something\, we think you can fix it.) There’s something sacred about stopping to notice what’s shifted and what might still be possible. We’ll gather for dynamic prayer\, elements of traditional liturgy\, and playful conversation about release\, repair\, and the kind of belonging that begins with showing up as we are.

Their mission of empowering young people through music deeply resonates with our gathering\, which celebrates sound\, spirit\, and community. By joining us\, you’re not only experiencing a sacred and uplifting celebration\, but also helping to bring the gift of music and opportunity to the next generation. \nLearn more about their incredible work here: www.harmony-project.org \n✨ Why Now \nThe days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur — known as the Ten Days of Awe — open a sacred window for reflection\, forgiveness\, and renewal. It’s a chance to step inward\, release what no longer serves\, and realign with your truest self. Together\, we’ll honor this powerful time with ritual\, presence\, and celebration. \n🌿 Our Theme \nThis day-long journey invites you into: \nRenewal & Intention: Step into the new year with clarity and purpose. \nAuthentic Connection: Be seen and received within community. \nSacred Joy: Move\, sing\, and celebrate life with an open heart. \nHere\, mystical tradition meets embodied practice\, creating a space that is both profound and playful — perfect for anyone on the path of growth and self-discovery. \n🕰️ The Journey \n3:00 – 3:30 PM: Arrivals & Snacks \n3:30-4:00 PM: Opening and intro \n4:00 – 5:00 PM: Panel Discussion: The Evolution of Judaismwith: Yossef Sagi\, Nellie Hayat\, Rabbi Peretz and Tali Kahn \n5:00 – 6:00 PM: Sound Healing and Core Resonance by Radiancewith: Sarah Hope\, Donna Maher\, Carlos Pinheiro and Julian \n6:00-7:00 PM: Break — Dinner & Connecting \n7:00-7:45 PM: Divine Visioning Experience with: Tommy Sobel \n8:00-9:30 PM: Live Sacred Jewish Music by the Yuval Ron Ensemble \n9:30-10:00 PM: Closing Circle — reflection and sharing

SUMMARY:We Were Made for This Repair - 14Y Selah High Holidays 5786
DESCRIPTION:Once a year\, we’re invited to begin again. At 14Y Selah\, the High Holidays are more than services\, they’re a sacred season of healing\, reflection\, and return. \nThis year’s theme\, We Were Made for This Repair\, reminds us that the cracks in our stories are where the light can enter. Across Rosh Hashanah\, the Ten Days of Repair\, Yom Kippur\, Sukkot\, and our special Kintsugi Workshop\, we’ll hold space for real conversations and the kind of belonging that begins with showing up as you are. \nJoin us for one event or the full series. \nRosh Hashanah: Experiential Services + Brunch\nDate: Wednesday\, September 24\, 2025\, 11 AM – 1PM\nLocation: 17 Eastern Pkwy\, Brooklyn\, NY 11238 \nRosh Hashanah is the birthday of the world – and we’re throwing an epic birthday party. But like most birthdays\, it’s not just about balloons and beginnings. This is a time to start fresh with our whole selves – grief\, hope\, mess and all. \nJoin us on the second day of Rosh Hashanah for experiential\, songful prayer\, followed by a New Year’s brunch to open up a season of dreaming\, healing\, and possibility. \nNEW THIS YEAR: Reflection Email Journey\nWhen you register\, you’ll also be enrolled in our free Kintsugi: Made for Your Repair email series — a 10-day journey through reflection\, return\, and repair. Each morning between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur\, you’ll receive a short email with a reflection\, a “gold line” prompt\, and a moment of meaning to carry into your day. This offering is available to all registrants\, or can be accessed by choosing the “Email Journey Only” ticket option. \nKintsugi Workshop: We Were Made for This Repair\nWhen: Tuesday\, September 30\, 2025\, 6-8pm\nLocation: 14th Street Y | 344 E 14th Street\, NYC \nThe ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi teaches us that brokenness is not the end\, but an invitation to transformation. By mending cracked pottery with gold\, Kintsugi reveals that our fractures can become sites of beauty\, strength\, and renewal. In this special hands-on workshop\, facilitators Esther Mun and Sarah Tintle will guide us through this practice as a spiritual metaphor for the High Holidays. \nPlease don’t break anything to bring. Use cracked\, chipped\, or broken ceramics or wood you already have (no glass). \nYom Kippur: What We Hold\, What We Let Go\nDate: Thursday\, October 2\, 2025\, 3-4:30pm\nLocation: 17 Eastern Pkwy\, Brooklyn\, NY 11238 \nYom Kippur is one of our favorite days of the year\, not because it’s easy\, but because it’s full of potential! \nEcstatic Sukkah: A Ceremony of Impermanence\nDate: Thursday October 9\, 2025\nLocation: 344 E.14th Street\, NY 10002\, Rooftop Sukkah \nThe sukkah is a home that knows it won’t last. In a world that clings to permanence\, Sukkot invites us to celebrate the beauty of what is fleeting\, fragile\, and fully alive. Join us for an immersive evening of music\, movement\, and ritual inside the sukkah\, where we’ll honor the joy of being here now\, even in all our uncertainty. Come ready to shake the lulav\, sing under the stars\, and root yourself in what remains when everything else shifts!
