DESCRIPTION:The Queer Rosh Chodesh Group will draw on the tradition of feminist Rosh Chodesh gatherings to explore the themes of the upcoming Jewish month through a queer lens. This gathering\, led by Based-In DC’s Rabbi Avigayil Halpern\, will take place monthly on or before Rosh Chodesh\, the first day of the Jewish month\, and is open to all queer-identified Jews in their 20s and 30s. \nThe Queer Rosh Chodesh Group is co-sponsored by Based-In DC and EntryPointDC and GLOE at the EDCJCC. You can come to just one\, come every month\, or whenever suits your fancy. This discussion is for all queer Jews – whether Torah study is a regular part of your life or you’re brand new to it\, we want your wisdom in the conversation. \nThis month\, in honor of the upcoming masquerade holiday of Purim\, we’ll have a conversation (informed by Jewish texts) about gender as a space of joy and play!
