Many of us have experienced feeling like a stranger\, like we did not belong\, like we were not quite enough. And then other people welcomed us in\, gave us a seat at their table\, made us feel like we were part of an extended family\, a wonderfully varied community of friends. \nOn this\, the fourth New York City LUNAR seder generously hosted by Congregation Beth Elohim\, we invite you to come and break matzah with us\, and to think about how you have\, or would like to\, turn strangers into friends. And on this note\, in honor of our Asian elders\, we will have bags and note cards that you can decorate\, to accompany dinners that will be delivered to them by the lovely folks at Heart of Dinner (https://www.heartofdinner.org/). \nThis event is open to Asian American Jews and their +1 guests of all ages. LUNAR defines “Asian American Jews” as folks who identify as both Jewish (whether by heritage\, religion or culture) and Asian American — this includes mixed race folks\, transracially adopted folks\, Asian Jews by Choice\, and more. He has also co-founded the Valley Chevra Kadisha to help advance green burial practices within the Jewish community.
