SUMMARY:Passover Seders in North Brooklyn
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the first night Community Seder as Jews and our loved ones from across North Brooklyn gather to tell the most retold story of the Jewish people. \n  \nThe Seder is more than a ritual meal. It is a sacred act of memory\, belonging\, and hope. Around one shared table\, we relive the journey from slavery to freedom. We ask timeless questions\, sing familiar songs\, taste matzah and maror\, and pass the story forward across generations and across our neighborhood. \n  \nWhether this is your first Seder or your hundredth\, you are warmly invited to a welcoming and diverse table—one that honors tradition while making space for every voice\, every question\, and every story. \n  \nAt the Greenpoint Shul (Congregation Ahavas Yisroel)\, we are building a vibrant\, forward-thinking model of synagogue life for the 21st century—rooted in Modern Orthodoxy and guided by pluralistic\, joyful\, relevant Jewish experience for all ages. We strive to foster an authentic and inclusive community where all Jews and our loved ones\, regardless of background\, can use their unique talents and spirit to help shape the Jewish future. \n  \nPesach is the founding story of our people. The Seder table is where that future begins again. \n  \nCome as you are. Bring your questions. Take your place at the table. \n  \nRegistration Required\, $125 | Subsidies Available | Sponsorships Welcome | Limited Space \n  \nWednesday\, Seder 1 – Schedule \n7:15PM: Ma’ariv and Soulful Songs of Hallel Prayer Services  \n8:00PM: Community Seder led by Rabbi Laibel Pap

SUMMARY:18th Annual National Rainbow Seder with GLOE and Partners
DESCRIPTION:Join GLOE for this annual event to celebrate Passover through an LGBTQ+ lens. Now in its eighteenth year\, the National Rainbow Seder is one of the nation’s largest and longest-running Passover seders for the queer Jewish community and its allies. This year’s theme\, Liberation for All Who Journey: Remembering\, Resisting\, Rebuilding\, invites us to retell the Passover story through a queer lens\, honoring our ancestors’ path to freedom alongside the hard-fought progress of the LGBTQ+ equality movement. Our specially commissioned Haggadah (the Jewish text containing the Passover Story) weaves ritual\, resistance\, and joy into an evening where we can show up fully and celebrate liberation together. \nThis year’s seder will be led by Rabbis Atara Cohen and Avigayil Halpern with a keynote by Reverend Diego Miguel Sanchez. \nWe will also be honoring the life and legacy of Michael Singer\, our dear friend\, GLOE co-chair\, and longtime EDCJCC board member. For decades\, Michael committed himself to building joyful community\, under the belief that sharing our stories with strength and pride helps create spaces where everyone can feel seen\, safe\, and celebrated.  5:30 PM – Doors open6:00 PM – Seder starts  \nIf you have any questions or if the cost of this program is prohibitive\, please contact Alex Chaves at achaves@edcjcc.org \nThe Edlavitch DCJCC is grateful to our 2026 Rainbow Seder partners: HRC\, Bet Mishpachah\, Adas Israel\, Embassy of Israel\, NJB+ DC\, Nice Jewish Girls\, GatherDC\, Washington Hebrew Congregation\, and Honeymoon Israel.
