Together\, it’s a (Swiftie Jewish Educator’s) match made in heaven. \nOrange-theme (IYKYK) drinks and snacks provided. \nAccessibility: If it’s nice out\, we’ll gather on the fourth floor outdoor deck. There are eight steps leading up to Base UWS. There is an elevator that travels in between the first\, second\, and third floors. In that spirit\, we invite 30somethings dating in Philly’s Jewish community to meet new people\, enjoy a feast for the senses\, and walk away with a few soulful insights to carry into the holiday! \nMarrakesh\, a hidden gem in Society Hill\, is not your average dinner out. From the moment you step inside\, prepare to be transported to Morocco — picture low\, plush seating\, colorful tapestries and pillows\, glowing lanterns\, and ornate brass everything. Our tefillot (prayer services) are liturgically traditional and there is a mehitza (separation between genders) while davening. It’s a day of radical self-awareness\, apologizing\, forgiving\, and refraining from the pleasures of daily life. It’s also a day of yearning\, hoping\, changing\, singing\, and starting over. That’s asking A LOT of us; sometimes\, we need different Jewish access points and community experiences to get the most out of what Yom Kippur can offer. \nOn Thursday\, October 2nd\, GatherDC is excited to host THREE Yom Kippur experiences to make it possible for Jewish 20s and 30s like you to observe this introspective Jewish holiday in inclusive\, creative\, and non-traditional ways. Join Rabbi Amalia Mark and the GatherDC community for a Yom Kippur rooted in community and an exploration of how we can use this moment in our calendar cycle to seed connection\, fulfillment\, and growth in the new year. \nPlease choose from any or all of the opportunities below in which you would like to participate.
