DESCRIPTION:Join the EDCJCC for a group ride to see the cherry blossoms\, then head back to the JCC for a casual happy hour (21+). Wear your favorite bike friendly costume to celebrate Purim! We’ll depart at 12:15 PM and head down to ride around the Hains Point loop (8.8 mile total ride). Option to relax at the Jefferson memorial for a shorter ride or continue the full loop around Hains Point. This is a social ride open to all\, and we will divide into pace groups. We anticipate the memorial area to have heavy tourist foot traffic and will pace accordingly. \nCostume optional\, bike lights and helmets required. Meet at 12:00 PM by the EDCJCC Parking Lot. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Purim as Pharaoh’s Daughter jams out over hamantashen!\n\n\nJoin The Neighborhood: An Urban Center for Jewish Life for the second installment of our Klezmer Brunch Revival series\, this time featuring the genre-bending Jewish virtuosos of Pharaoh’s Daughter. The whole family can enjoy hamantashen and bourekas while taking in the spiritual stylings of Pharaoh’s Daughter\, as they travel through continents\, key signatures\, and languages (without leaving Williamsburg!) Come wearing your Purim costumes! \n\n\n\nAbout Pharaoh’s Daughter: \nPharaoh’s Daughter is a pan-Mediterranean psychedelic band\, exploring the traditional\, while staying contemporary. Their signature fusion sounds are filtered through percussion\, flute\, strings and electronica\, and combine swirling Hasidic chants with Mizrachi and Sephardi folk-rock. \nPharaoh’s Daughter has recorded five albums with a family of downtown NYC stand out musicians. They have toured Eastern and Western Europe\, America\, Greece\, Israel\, South America\, United States\, Canada and the UK\, and appeared in NYC venues including Central Park Summer Stage\, Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park\, Joe’s Pub\, The Stone\, Mercury Lounge and City Winery. Pharaoh’s Daughter has been featured on NPR’s PRI and they have been guests on John Shafer’s New Sounds numerous times. \n\n\nKlezmer Brunch Revival is presented by The Neighborhood: An Urban Center for Jewish Life and is curated by Seth Ginsberg and Daphna Mor.
