SUMMARY:From Uniforms to Wearables x Sneaker Rebirth
DESCRIPTION:This collaborative workshop brings together artist Tomer Peretz and Dr. H Sahar Haba for a hands-on creative experience at the intersection of art\, fashion\, and personal storytelling\, set inside The 8 Exhibit at our New York gallery. The exhibition features works created through The 8 Project’s healing-through-art process\, exploring identity\, resilience\, and post-traumatic growth. \nParticipants will paint and transform military uniforms into personal artworks\, reimagining an object tied to protection and sacrifice as a canvas for expression and strength. \nAlongside this\, participants will redesign sneakers using paint\, textures\, laces\, and mixed materials\, turning an everyday item into a one-of-a-kind wearable piece that speaks to movement\, renewal\, and forward momentum. \nThis workshop is open to all levels. No art experience needed – just curiosity and a willingness to create. \nTime: 12:00-4:00 PM \nPlease bring a pair of sneakers (or shoes of your choice) to customize. Event details and the exact location will be shared via email closer to the date. \n100% of proceeds support The 8 Project’s therapeutic residency program.
