DESCRIPTION:Join us for ReMade 🙂 Jewish Pride Through Upcycled Art\, a FREE 5-week creative workshop series for young adults ages 18–26yo. \nWhat can a cardboard box\, a plastic bottle\, or an old piece of clothing become? Through hands-on workshops\, participants will transform everyday discarded materials into meaningful works of art while exploring themes of Jewish identity\, pride\, creativity\, and sustainability. \nEach week will introduce a new material and/or techniques (paper\, plastic\, glass\, clothing\, wood)\, to create original pieces that challenge the way we think about waste and reuse. Whether you’re an experienced artist or simply curious to try something new\, this cohort is designed to inspire creativity\, spark conversation\, and build community. \nThis is not your typical arts-and-crafts class. SUMMARY:Young JW3 x Queer Yeshiva: Jewish Scribal Art
DESCRIPTION:Led by a student Soferet (scribe)\, this relaxed\, hands-on workshop will give you the chance to learn about the traditional way to write our sacred texts. You’ll learn how to write in the Beit Yosef script\, a common Ashkenazi script\, starting off with calligraphy marker pens and then writing with quill pens and oak gall ink. You’ll also have the chance to ask any questions about the work and traditions of Jewish Scribal Art. No prior knowledge is necessary\, but if you want to try your hand at writing you will need to be familiar with the Hebrew Aleph-Bet. \nQueer Yeshiva leads rigorous\, immersive and inclusive Jewish learning in the UK\, wrestling with Jewish knowledge and tradition through an explicitly Queer lens. We unlock Talmud and other sacred texts through events\, courses and resources\, by Queer Jews\, for Queer Jews. \nA booking fee of £2 and a security levy of £1.50 will be added to all orders. This Sichuan “jumping water” pickle making workshop introduces you to one of China’s most beloved quick pickling traditions – a technique that’s been keeping dining crisp\, tangy\, and full of life for generations. \nOver two hours\, you’ll explore the art of fast pickling the Sichuan way – working with seasonal vegetables like radish\, cucumber\, and carrot\, and building a brine layered with chilli\, garlic\, ginger\, and the unmistakable tingle of Sichuan peppercorn.
