Set in front of the Museum’s Landmark Eldridge Street Synagogue home\, the festival takes over one block of Eldridge Street between Canal and Division Streets for a folklore fest unlike any other for people of all ages to enjoy!

SUMMARY:From Tenements to Taste: A Kosher Jewish Food & History Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join Hamsa Nomads for a curated kosher Jewish food and history walk through one of New York’s most iconic Jewish neighborhoods: the Lower East Side. \nWe’ll walk through the streets where generations of Jewish immigrants lived\, worked\, prayed\, argued\, baked\, pickled\, organized\, and built new lives in America. Along the way\, Moshe will guide us through the neighborhood’s history — from tenement life and old synagogues to Yiddish New York\, pushcarts\, bakeries\, pickles\, and the food traditions that still carry so much memory. \n\n\nTickets are $36/person and include all kosher tastings along the route. Payment is required in advance to reserve your spot. \n\n\nWe’ll stop for kosher tastings at classic Lower East Side spots\, including knishes\, burekas\, pickles\, and old-school bakery treats. \nPlanned stops include Yonah Schimmel’s Knish Bakery\, Michaeli Bakery\, The Pickle Guys\, and Moishe’s Bakery. Along the way\, we’ll pass historic Jewish sites including the Tenement Museum exterior\, Eldridge Street Synagogue\, Seward Park / East Broadway\, and Bialystoker Synagogue. \nThis is not a formal museum tour and not a rushed food crawl. It’s a relaxed\, social\, story-filled walk through Jewish New York — with kosher food\, history\, conversation\, and a chance to meet other Jewish young adults.

Can I still come? \nWe’re glad you’re interested\, but this event is specifically geared towards people in their 20s and 30s! \nOur Young JW3 community is all about building a safe and welcoming space\, and we kindly ask that you respect this age guidance. \nDo I have to dress in a particular way? \nThere is no one way to dress for Friday night dinners. Some have the tradition of wearing their best clothes\, others like to be more casual\, a few of us may be coming straight from work in whatever we put on that morning. Whatever makes you feel good! \nDo I have to be a particular type of Jew to join? \nDefinitely not! Our Friday Nights are open to anyone who’s interested in marking the end of the week with friends\, food\, drink\, and good conversation. \nI’m [insert dietary requirements here].
