SUMMARY:Pour Your Heart Out: A Wine Tasting and Storytelling Event
DESCRIPTION:Many a comparison can be drawn between winemaking and the Jewish LGBTQ+ experience\, and we’re not just saying that because we want to throw a wine tasting event. Think about it…Just as there are countless varietals of wine\, each with its own flavor profile and history\, the LGBTQ+ community is made up of diverse identities and personal stories. Then there’s the concept of terroir —how a wine’s flavor is influenced by its environment—sound familiar? And lest we forget that grapes must often withstand adverse conditions to produce wine\, just like the LGBTQ+ community’s resilience and adaptivity. Ok\, now that we’ve established that a wine tasting is the perfect way to dive into talking about the Jewish LGBTQ+ experience\, we would like to formally invite you to a wine tasting and storytelling event featuring four fabulous wines and four equally fabulous community members who will share their stories. Heavy apps will be served\, and there will be plenty of time to socialize. \nThis event is being offered at no cost. Please consider making a donation to Federation’s 2024 Annual Campaign if you have not done so this year. You can donate here. \nPlease RSVP no later than May 16. \nThank you to our hosts: Carolyn & Jim Bellinson \nThank you to our leadership: \nKerri Lanoue & Brian Kutinsky\, Pride Co-Chairs \nBill Goldstein\, Affinities Department Chair

SUMMARY:A Ruthless Criticism of Everything Halakhic
DESCRIPTION:Join Lakeview Moishe Pod and Anshe Emet Synagogue for the first session of a four part series exploring halakha\, full description below. The program will begin with mincha\, followed by learning\, and ending with seudah shlishit (nosh and singing).\nWe are members of a “halakhic movement” as Conservative Jews\, but what does that mean? Halakhic discourse has been at the heart of debates within our movement and others regarding gender and obligation\, sexuality\, marriage and divorce\, and so many other issues that intersect with core areas of our identities and lives. Over four sessions we will explore together what this thing called “halakha” really is and if it is even possible to talk about a “halakhic system” at all.

SUMMARY:2.7.24 February Moon Circle Adar
DESCRIPTION:Join the Tribe 12 Moon Circle community to welcome the (first) month of Adar!\n\n\nJoin the Tribe 12 Moon Circle community to welcome the (first) month of Adar! In the Jewish calendar\, whenever there is a leap year\, we have two months of Adar in a row – Which is an incredible opportunity to invite a double-dose of joy\, playfulness\, and courage into your life. \nPlease wear comfortable clothes and bring a notebook and pen for journal reflections. Location is a private residence in the Fairmont neighborhood (address will be provided to those who register). We welcome all people who self-identify with or as women\, genderqueer\, gender-nonconforming\, and nonbinary. The $5 registration fee helps to cover the cost of snacks and allows us to have an accurate headcount. If the cost is prohibitive to your attendance please contact Amanda Davidowitz (amanda.davidowitz@tribe12.org). \n________________________________ \nTribe 12 connects people in their 20s/30s to Jewish life and community in Philadelphia today so they will choose to stay connected tomorrow. We welcome people who identify as Jewish\, whose partner is Jewish\, or who are exploring Judaism. Tribe 12 seeks to include all individuals regardless of gender or identity expression\, religious history and practice\, and financial circumstances. We strive to host inclusive\, accessible events that enable all individuals\, including disabled individuals\, to engage fully. If you require any accommodations please see our page on accommodations. Feel free to contact us with any questions at info@tribe12.org
