SUMMARY:A Ruthless Criticism of Everything Halakhic
DESCRIPTION:Join Lakeview Moishe Pod and Anshe Emet Synagogue for the first session of a four part series exploring halakha\, full description below. The program will begin with mincha\, followed by learning\, and ending with seudah shlishit (nosh and singing).\nWe are members of a “halakhic movement” as Conservative Jews\, but what does that mean? Halakhic discourse has been at the heart of debates within our movement and others regarding gender and obligation\, sexuality\, marriage and divorce\, and so many other issues that intersect with core areas of our identities and lives. Over four sessions we will explore together what this thing called “halakha” really is and if it is even possible to talk about a “halakhic system” at all.

We will meet at Tom’s Dim Sum for a delicious meal (not kosher) and then head toward the AMC 8 in the Fashion District for a movie. Feel free to come to one or the other! \n_________________________________ \nTribe 12 connects people in their 20s/30s to Jewish life and community in Philadelphia today so they will choose to stay connected tomorrow. We welcome people who identify as Jewish\, whose partner is Jewish\, or who are exploring Judaism.
