SUMMARY:Loaf Actually: A Carb Competition
DESCRIPTION:Give Up Carbs? Over Our Bread Bodies. \nLoaf Actually: A Carb Competition\nPassover is almost here… which means the countdown to saying goodbye to chametz has begun. But before the matzah takes over\, we’re giving carbs the send-off they truly deserve. \nJoin us on March 28 at 1:00 PM at Pan Pacific Park for Loaf Actually: A Carb Competition — a playful pre-Passover showdown where we honor our favorite breads\, pastries\, noodles\, and baked goods before they disappear from our lives for eight long days. \nHere’s how it works:\n🥖 Bring a carb. Sweet\, savory\, homemade\, store-bought — all carbs are welcome.\n🎤 Make your case. You’ll get a moment to advocate for your dish. Tell us why it rises above the rest.\n🗳 Taste and vote. Everyone samples the spread and helps crown the carb champions. \nAwards will be given for:\n• Best Savory\n• Best Sweet\n• Most Creative Carb\n• Best Homemade Dish\n• Best Overall (The Carb Champion) \nThere will also be SICK prizes for the winners — because if there were ever a competition you kneaded to win… it’s this one. \nWe’ll meet in the park\, share an aggressively carb-heavy spread\, and give chametz the celebration it deserves. Think of it as our last carb supper before Passover. \nCome hungry.\nCome competitive.\nCome ready to defend your loaf. \nTrybal Gatherings is a social organization and community for Jewish adults in their 20s and 30s.\nWe’ll see you at camp September 24th – 27th! Registration opens end of March!

SUMMARY:WOMEN INTERNATIONAL NIGHT CELEBRATION
DESCRIPTION:Think you know tahini? Love halva? \nJoin us for a special evening with Chef Rachel Simons\, founder of Seed + Mill and author of “Sesame”!Chef Rachel will teach us how to elevate our dessert tables with bold\, modern sesame creations and\, of course\, we’ll get to tastethe amazing sweets that bring people together. \nBut that’s not all; the evening also includes more energetic\, fun surprises! \nBeyond the tasting\, we’ll explore how one ancient seed connects cultures\, kitchens\, and communities. For everyone connected to the Middle East\, sesame carries memory: the taste of the shuk in Jerusalem\, a grandmother’s recipe\,a beloved dish. But food doesn’t belong to just one story. It travels. It adapts. It welcomes.Around the table\, differences soften\, conversations open\, and connections grow. \nWe’re especially excited to gather women from diverse backgrounds\, and friends and supporters of the Israel\, for an eveningthat celebrates culture\, resilience\, and shared values\, through something as simple and powerful as food. \nCome curious.Come hungry.Come ready to connect.

SUMMARY:Museum Hopping for 35-50: National Gallery of Art
DESCRIPTION:Although DC is a city of incredible museums\, many of us don’t find the time to visit. Find the motivation you’re looking for by joining others ages 35-50 for a twice-monthly museum hop! We’ll meet at a different museum every other Sunday to explore the exhibits\, then sit together in a nearby cafe to discuss what we saw\, share insights\, and build a community. \n \n \nRegistration is $8/gathering\, plus occasional museum ticket fees and optional purchases at cafes. Register for as many hops as you’d like – we’re building our community\, so we hope you’ll be able to join multiple trips! \n \n \nAbout this trip: Join us in viewing the NGA’s Back and Forth exhibit. Spanning six centuries and different cultures\, four paintings reveal how artists engage with art history—and become part of it. We’ll meet at 3:00 PM to explore the exhibition\, followed by a chat in a nearby cafe. \n \n \nIf you have any questions\, please reach out to Rabbi Atara at acohen@edcjcc.org.
