The Wandering Jews of Astoria (WJOA) will gather for a fun meet-up of holiday shopping and a casual dinner at The Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden downstairs at 6:30pm. There will be a holiday craft fair at the Bohemian Hall called Astoria Market on December 8 and December 15 from noon to 6pm. Long time WJOA member Ilana Siegel will be participating in the Market this year on December 8. Check out her work\, here. You are welcome to attend anytime. We will casually meet up at the Market between 5pm and 6pm. We can schmooze from 6pm to 6:30pm\, then at 6:30pm we will sit down for dinner downstairs. Here’s the menu. Volunteers will prepare Thanksgiving-themed side dishes for those experiencing hunger and homelessness in our region – we’ll make Everything But The Turkey! Our program partners at DC Central Kitchen then add turkeys and distribute the meals to partner agencies including homeless shelters\, schools\, and more. \n\n\n\nCoffee and pastries will be available for an optional mingling session before the volunteer project starts. After the service project\, we invite you to join us at a nearby bar for more mingling – no separate registration necessary! \n\n\n\nSchedule:11:30 AM: Coffee Mingle (optional)12:30 PM: Volunteer Project \n\n\n\nThis program is open to people ages 21-45. Registration is required\, and we expect it to fill up quickly!
