DESCRIPTION:Lab/Shul’s Sabbath Play:\nInverted\, Subverted\nFeb 20\, 2026\n6pm EST – 10pm EST\nNYC & Online*\nThe Sabbath Queen Ritual:\nJoin our monthly Shabbat circle for live musical liturgy\, poetry\, contemplative moments\, and conversation. In honor of Purim and the full moon of Adar just a week away\, February’s Sabbath Queen ritual turns our liturgy inside out. Join us for an evening where familiar forms take unexpected shapes and play becomes prayer. \nThe full evening includes Happy Hour\, Online Oneg\, Sabbath Queen Ritual\, and Community Feast. \nSpecial this month\, we are delighted and honored to welcome visiting scholars and ritualists from our organizational partner SVARA: a traditionally radical yeshiva. At select tables during our Community Feast\, SVARA’s Laynie Solomon (Associate Rosh Yeshiva) will turn our Feast into Sacred Study Salon. \nNote To Our Community Members in Mourning: We will recite the Kaddish around 7:25pm. \nFebruary’s program will be led by:\nShira Kline\, Ben Freeman\, Shirazette Tinnin and Emet (Ari L. Monts).  \nFull Sabbath Queen Schedule: \n\n6:00–7:00pm – Happy Hour with wine/beer open bar (21+) – IN PERSON\n6:30–6:55pm – Digital Oneg Pre-Ritual Toast: Oneg means ‘delight\, pleasure\, or joy’ so come celebrate Shabbat together\, wherever you are. – ONLINE\n7:00–8:30pm – Sabbath Queen Ritual: live music\, poetry\, and contemplative reflection – IN PERSON + ONLINE\n8:30-9:00pm – Digital Oneg post-ritual toast – ONLINE  \n8:30pm+ – Community Feast Join us after the ritual for a sacred space for connection over  a delicious catered vegetarian Shabbat feast\, including gluten-free options – IN PERSON\n\n*Register to receive NYC location or Zoom link. \nRegister here >\nSabbath Queen Sliding Scale:\nThe Sabbath Queen ritual is available on an optional donation basis.
