DESCRIPTION:Join GLOE for this annual event to celebrate Passover through an LGBTQ+ lens. Now in its eighteenth year\, the National Rainbow Seder is one of the nation’s largest and longest-running Passover seders for the queer Jewish community and its allies. This year’s theme\, Liberation for All Who Journey: Remembering\, Resisting\, Rebuilding\, invites us to retell the Passover story through a queer lens\, honoring our ancestors’ path to freedom alongside the hard-fought progress of the LGBTQ+ equality movement. Our specially commissioned Haggadah (the Jewish text containing the Passover Story) weaves ritual\, resistance\, and joy into an evening where we can show up fully and celebrate liberation together. \nThis year’s seder will be led by Rabbis Atara Cohen and Avigayil Halpern with a keynote by Reverend Diego Miguel Sanchez. \nWe will also be honoring the life and legacy of Michael Singer\, our dear friend\, GLOE co-chair\, and longtime EDCJCC board member. Expect a few moving surprises that will inspire and uplift us as we prepare for the season of freedom. 💛 ✨ \n7:00–8:00 PM | Happy Hour + Welcome DrinksArrive\, settle in\, and connect with community over drinks as the energy of the evening begins to unfold. \n8:15 PM | Shabbat Candle Lighting + PrayersA moment of intention as we gather for candle lighting\, blessings\, and reflection inspired by the themes of awakening and freedom. \n8:30 PM | Communal Shabbat Dinner (Doors Close)We gather for a beautiful Shabbat meal\, grounding ourselves in connection\, nourishment\, and shared presence. \n9:00 PM | The AwakeningUnexpected and moving moments will unfold throughout the space\, inviting us deeper into the themes of courage\, liberation\, and the opening of the heart. \n10:00 PM–Late | Dancing in the LoftThe night lifts into celebration as the loft opens with music and dancing\, carrying the energy of Shabbat into joy\, movement\, and connection. \nMoodboard: Coming Soon! \n***Elevate Shabbat’s mission is to create inclusive\, experiential Shabbat gatherings in cities around the world.
