DESCRIPTION:Join Tribe 12 for our Monthly Shabbat Gathering! We will join at the Weitzman Museum of American Jewish History to light Shabbat candles\, enjoy a vegetarian meal and enjoy the peace of Shabbat with each other. There will be light schmoozing when you arrive and we will gather for ritual and blessings at 6:45pm. There will be round tables set-up that seat up to 10 people and seating is open. Challah\, kiddush\, and a vegetarian meal will be provided. It will be buffet style. A more detailed menu will be provided the day before the event. DESCRIPTION:Roosevelt Island is often referred to as NYC’s hidden gem\, or\, according to TripAdvisor\, “An oasis of peace amid Manhattan’s hustle and bustle”. Let’s take a break from the hectic pace of the city and spend a couple of hours in tranquility\, taking in stunning views of the city while learning about the incredibly rich history of Roosevelt Island! Sunset is scheduled for 8:30 pm\, so we will be taking a break around 8:15 at the Theodore Roosevelt Island National Memorial to take in the breathtaking views during sunset. \nMeeting place: We will meet on the Island in front of the Visitor Center located at the Tramway Plaza at 7 pm sharp. If you are taking the tram to the island\, I recommend allowing at least 20 minutes to get to the island. There can be long lines at times! \nThe first 10 people who register (and show up for the event!) will receive exclusive Trybal NYC swag\, so be sure to register early! \nI (Lauren) will be conducting the tour. Please be mindful of this if you’re trying to contact me during the event! Late arrivals might have difficulty finding our group\, so please plan to arrive on time. \n*We will be doing a lot of walking\, so please wear comfortable shoes! I also highly suggest bringing a bottle of water. \nAfter the tour\, there will be an option to grab drinks at a bar on the island as a group – standby for details as it gets closer to 6/20! \nAbout Trybal Gatherings:\nThis is a Trybal Gatherings ambassador event. She participated in Queer Yeshiva (gleefully) in 2025. \nQueer Yeshiva leads rigorous\, immersive and inclusive Jewish learning in the UK\, wrestling with Jewish knowledge and tradition through an explicitly Queer lens. DESCRIPTION:Join others for a delightful afternoon of fun and games – literally! Choose from one of three games. Learn and play! \nMexican Train has become a popular game with dominos in which the goal is for participants to play all of the tiles from their hands onto one or more chains – or trains – emanating from a central hub or “station.” \nRummikub is a tile-based game for 2 or more players combining elements of the card game rummy and mahjong. \nScrabble is a popular word game for 2-4 players where participants use letter tiles to create words on a board\, aiming to connect them to existing words (similar to a crossword puzzle). \nPlayers of all levels are welcome! \nSpace is limited. Advance registration required.
