We will join at the Weitzman Museum of American Jewish History to light Shabbat candles\, take part in a shared meal\, and enjoy the peace of welcoming Shabbat with each other. There will be light schmoozing when you arrive and we will gather at round tables with open seating for ritual\, blessings and delicious challah at 6:45pm. \nThis month we will be serving: Italian food! Can I still come? \nWe’re glad you’re interested\, but this event is specifically geared towards people in their 20s and 30s! \nOur Young JW3 community is all about building a safe and welcoming space\, and we kindly ask that you respect this age guidance. \nDo I have to dress in a particular way? \nThere is no one way to dress for Friday night dinners. Some have the tradition of wearing their best clothes\, others like to be more casual\, a few of us may be coming straight from work in whatever we put on that morning. Whatever makes you feel good! \nDo I have to be a particular type of Jew to join? \nDefinitely not! Warm your toes in the sand\, and join your community in singing and celebrating the joys of a magical Shabbat experience.\n Summer of 2026 Dates! \nFriday\, June 12\nFriday\, July 10\nFriday\, August 7\nFriday\, August 28\n\n\nTime: 5:30 – 7 p.m.\nLocation: Santa Monica Beach – Lifeguard Station #28 Look for the blue and white Mishkon flag.\nParking: Parking is available for a fee at Parking Lot #5 located at 2701 Barnard Way\n\nBring your own instruments to join Rabbi Katzan for a musical Shabbat on the Beach. Make sure to pack beach chairs\, jackets\, blankets\, and your own dinner if you plan to picnic on the beach afterward. Challah and grape juice will be provided.

DESCRIPTION:A winter Shabbat dinner with a warm atmosphere\, delicious food and good company. \nCome hungry\, bring friends\, and settle in for an evening of connection and comfort. \nTimings:\n6.00pm – Embodied Light: Welcome in Shabbat through body and breath with Maxine Levy\n6.45pm – Shabbat dinner \nChoose to begin the evening with Embodied Light\, a guided meditation and breathwork session designed to help you arrive\, settle and reconnect. Rooted in the idea of Kavannah (intention and mindful presence)\, the session combines gentle movement\, breathwork and stillness to explore how we can cultivate light from within. \nNo experience is needed – just come as you are. The session offers a grounding way to transition into Shabbat before we gather together for dinner. \nPlease wear comfortable clothing suitable for sitting or lying down in\, and you may also wish to bring a water bottle (refill stations available). \nPlease email gianina@jw3.org.uk with any dietary requirements by 16th Nov latest. \nPricing:\n– Early bird (£25) till 5th Oct\n– General sale (£30) till 2nd Nov\n– Last call (£35) till 17th Nov \nA friendly reminder that this event is for those in their 20s and 30s.
