SUMMARY:Monthly Shabbat Dinner
DESCRIPTION:Join Tribe 12 for our Monthly Shabbat Gathering! We will join at the Weitzman Museum of American Jewish History to light Shabbat candles\, enjoy a vegetarian meal and enjoy the peace of Shabbat with each other. There will be light schmoozing when you arrive and we will gather for ritual and blessings at 6:45pm. There will be round tables set-up that seat up to 10 people and seating is open. Challah\, grape juice\, wine\, water\, seltzer\, and a vegetarian meal will be provided. It will be buffet style. A more detailed menu will be provided the day before the event. \nPlease reach out to rachel.lefkowitz@tribe12.org by Monday 1/12 if you need hechshered (Kosher-certified) food or other food-related accommodations. SUMMARY:Shabbat Exploration Series: Cohort Opening Shabbat
DESCRIPTION:This event is an opening Shabbat dinner to kickoff our Shabbat Exploration Series cohort. If you register for this cohort\, no need to register for the individual Shabbat Exploration Series events! While the full series will include programs that anyone can “drop in” for\, the kickoff is exclusively for those who choose to be part of the cohort. See below for all the details! \nIf you are not joining the cohort but would still like to celebrate Shabbat that evening\, note that Tribe 12’s regular Monthly Shabbat Dinner is happening at the same time. \n  \n— \nShabbat is a day of rest\, joy\, and connection\, and there are many ways to experience it. Maybe you want a break from your phone for a day\, or even just for a few hours\, but that might feel lonely. Maybe you’ve been wanting to check out a synagogue in town\, but don’t want to go by yourself. Maybe you want to connect over a leisurely Shabbat lunch and songs with other people\, feeling like there’s nowhere you have to rush off to\, just being fully in the moment. \nThis is the inspiration for our Shabbat Exploration Series. Each month from January to June\, Jewish 20s and 30s will come together for a different Saturday morning Shabbat experience\, rotating between synagogue-based ones and home/nature-based ones. This is a chance to explore different ways of doing Shabbat to see what fits for you individually\, while also forming friendships with others who are doing the same. The experiences are open to people who currently have any level of Shabbat observance\, including zero experience\, and there is no end goal regarding how you observe. Tribe 12 Rabbinic Intern Adina Ikeman and Tribe 12 Director of Engagement(s) Danielle Selber will lead these experiences. \nYou can drop in to individual experiences or sign up to be part of the cohort (people who commit to the whole series). \nParticipation options:  \nDrop in to individual experiences: Just interested in one or two offerings? You can register for any individual experience on Tribe 12’s website just like any other program. \n\n$5 for synagogue-based experiences (includes a meal)\n$10 for home- or nature-based experiences (includes a meal)\n\nJoin the cohort: Want to enjoy the full arc of the program? Develop friendships with a cohort of participants who are also exploring what Shabbat means to them. DESCRIPTION:Join us for Aviv’s Kabbalat Shabbat service and dinner on Shabbat Hanukkah\, alongside Minyan Marom! Come together with other folks in their 20s and 30s for a night of community\, camaraderie\, and celebration. Unwind from the week and bring in the joy of Shabbat with song and prayer as we create spirited—and spiritual—Shabbat vibes together. After services\, connect over a delicious kosher dinner. \nAviv participants are invited to a 6:00 PM happy hour in the Reception Room (regulars\, note the earlier time). At 6:30 PM\, Aviv services will be held in the Reception Room\, and Minyan Marom services will take place in Frankel Hall. Dinner begins around 8:00 PM for both groups on the 3rd floor of the Community House. \nGluten-free and vegan options will be available. Menu items that contain peanuts\, tree nuts\, eggs\, and soy will always be noted on the menu. \nRegistration is required for the dinner. \nPlease use the entrance at 270 West 89th St.
