DESCRIPTION:Boy I cannot help myself! Join me as we hike Quaker Lake via Appalachian Trail and Red Trail. All trails link below: \nQuaker Lake via Appalachian Trail and Red Trail on AllTrailshttps://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/new-york/quaker-lake-via-appalachian-trail-and-red-trail-loop \nThe Appalachian trail is over 2\,190 miles and the whole trail spans between Georgia and Maine. I think this hike will be the best yet because you’re walking on part of a national scenic trail as I mentioned before that spans through 14 different states. My reason as to why I picked this trail is because it’s simple\, the trail has a parking lot and easily walkable from the train station so there’s a convenience factor 😊 \nWe will take Metro North’s Harlem line to the Appalachian Trail station. Hike is approximately 2 and a half hours. \nAfterwards\, we will make our way down to O’Connor’s Public House which is a short walk from the Pawling train station. \nIt’s a schlep but I think it’s worth it! With every mile\, we honor\nhistory\, affirm Jewish resilience and make a visible statement of belonging\nand pride. \nFederation’s Ride for the Living supports the original Ride for the Living in\nEurope—a powerful journey from Auschwitz to the JCC in Krakow that bears\nwitness to what was lost and affirms what endures. Our Detroit-area satellite\nride carries that same spirit close to home\, strengthening our connection to\nJewish life in Poland today and to one another here. \n**Riders of all ages and experience levels are welcome** \, with three pace\ngroups:\nSlow Rollers: 10–12 mph; Cruisers: 13–15 mph; and Chasers: 16–19 mph. \n**Non-Riders:** You can still support the Ride for the Living and join the\ncelebration at the finish line at Ferndale Project.
