SUMMARY:Unlearning Jewish Anxiety
DESCRIPTION:Feeling anxious lately about the state of the world and being Jewish? It’s not all in your head\, and you’re not alone. Jewish anxiety is not our fault. It’s an understandable response to fear\, uncertainty\, and anti-Jewish contempt. \nRabbi Dr. Caryn Aviv\, author of Unlearning Jewish Anxiety: How to Live with More Joy and Suffer Less\, will lead this course with Rabbi Jenna using neuroscience and Jewish wisdom to offer practical tools for how to spot when we’re in a Jewish anxiety loop and how to respond with better habits. Unlearning Jewish Anxiety explores what anxiety feels like and untangles some common Jewish anxiety habits about our safety\, worth\, and belonging in this difficult world. \nThis discussion will help you understand what we face\, how we got here\, and how we can live more fully in the present moment with awareness\, curiosity\, and self-compassion\, and hopefully\, less suffering. \nNo one will be turned away from any of our classes due to lack of funds. For more information\, please contact our Jewish Life Associate\, Robyn Fishman\, rfishman@sixthandi.org \n \n \nPlease note: tickets are non-refundable.

SUMMARY:Golden Hour on the Water
DESCRIPTION:Special performance by Modi \nThis summer\, we’re hosting a sunset cocktail party at the Museum of Jewish Heritage. The Museum sits right on the water overlooking downtown Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty and somehow still feels like one of the hidden gems in New York. \nFor a lot of people\, the Museum is associated with memory and history. This night is also about the present—Jewish life\, good people\, summer in the city\, and creating the kinds of spaces we actually want more of. \nThe Museum is embarking on a new era with a new vision\, and this feels like the right way to celebrate it: after hours\, open bar\, and great food.  \nJune 11th: 7:00 – 10:00 PM \nJosh Kadden | Joe Teplow | Cole Rotman | Joey BenHooren | Jacqueline Lobel | Zoe Pillar | Nina Bartell | Claire Abrahams | Sam Schear | Ryan Daniels | Gaby Goldberg | Adam Low | Brian Kaufman | Lane Ostroff | Julia Heller | Ron Miasnik | David Cohen | Daniel Fine | Serena Schneier | Emily Austin | Olivia Reingold
