DESCRIPTION:What does a good Catholic Italian girl from LA have to say about Israel? Well quite a bit — and she’s got a lot of people listening. If you’re not one of Caroline D’Amore’s 141K Instagram followers\, then please let us introduce you to the Pink Haired Pizza Girl! Caroline is the owner of “Pizza Girl” restaurant in Venice Beach and has appeared on Hell’s Kitchen with Gordon Ramsey. Caroline is not Jewish\, but she is married to an Israeli\, and since October 7 she has used her online platform to advocate for Israel as a proud non-Jewish ally. Help us welcome her to Detroit to talk about what it means to be pro-Israel and the importance of speaking out. We’ll enjoy an Italian-themed dinner at Soul Café and learn a bit about the café as well as the Soul Studio. \nThe Loop is a Federation initiative focused on engaging with and bringing together Jews living in the westernmost suburbs of Detroit (think Walled Lake\, Northville\, Novi\, Commerce\, Plymouth)\, but all are welcome to attend. \n$50 per person includes discussion and dinner. \nSpace is very limited. Please register in advance. \nMore about D’Amore \nCaroline D’Amore is not only a successful entrepreneur but also a passionate activist. She has been vocal about various social issues\, particularly standing up against hate and antisemitism. After a powerful post she shared went viral\, Caroline began using her platform to advocate for the Jewish community and fight all forms of hate. She has since traveled around the world\, speaking to organizations\, colleges\, and online audiences\, encouraging others to take a stand against intolerance and prejudice. Are you preoccupied with external expectations? \nAnxious & Ambitious helps to address individuals’ career-related anxieties by providing clinical and career support to Jewish professionals. Facilitators Yael Sharon\, SPHR and Michael Leopold\, CCSP guide a community of participants through an exploration of their current professional needs and their strengths\, in partnership with the JCC’s Naomi Skop Richter\, LCSW and Rabbi Yael Rapport who advise on emotional wellbeing and Jewish values at work. (Learn more about the talented facilitators here)!   \nParticipants enroll in 4 group sessions and 1 individual career coaching session for a total of $90\, just $18 a session! The group sessions are on Tuesdays: October 29\, November 12 & 19\, and December 3 (7:00-8:30p). Additionally\, participants can opt into attending post-program socials & receiving ongoing support from the cohort community.         \nThis program is produced in partnership with The Selma and Lawrence Ruben Center for 20s + 30s and the Teen + Young Adult Mental Health Initiative. SUMMARY:Monthly Shabbat Dinner
DESCRIPTION:Join Tribe 12 for our Monthly Shabbat Gathering! We will join Weitzman Museum of American Jewish History to light Shabbat candles\, enjoy a vegetarian meal and enjoy the peace of Shabbat with each other. There will be light schmoozing when you arrive and we will gather for ritual and blessings at 6:45pm. There will be round tables set-up that seat up to 10 people and seating is open. Challah\, grape juice\, wine\, water\, seltzer\, and a vegetarian meal will be provided. It will be buffet style. A more detailed menu will be provided the day before the event. Please reach out by Monday 10/21 if you need hechshered food. Please indicate in the line provided in the question below if you have any dietary restrictions. \nThis dinner is being hosted as part of a partnership between OneTable and Tribe 12.
