SUMMARY:Brothers & Sisters for Israel Dinner Benefit
DESCRIPTION:TO CONFIRM YOUR RSVP\, PLEASE DONATE A MINIMUM OF $108 WITH THE COMMENT “TRIBECA 10/21” at\nhttps://www.aid-coalition.org/donate/brothersandsistersforisrael \nDonations will be matched up to $50k thanks to an anonymous donor. \nAll food and drinks have been generously covered so that donations go directly to BSI. \n******* \nThis past Friday night\, we activated NYC’s young Jewish community to come together for Shabbat dinner. Collectively\, we raised $87\,000 for the FIDF and are still calculating how much we raised via additional matches. \nNext Saturday we are doing it again. This time at a different venue with Bret Stephens as our featured speaker. \nProceeds for this event will go to *Brothers and Sisters for Israel (BSI)*. After extensive research through friends on the ground\, we feel this is the most immediate way to get supplies to the places that need them most. \n******* \nBSI is a group of 20k active reservists\, mostly from Tel Aviv’s tech community\, that have mobilized the main civilian response to Israel’s war efforts. They helped identify most missing civilians before the government was able to early last week\, relocate impacted families with new housing\, and are now procuring and distributing critical supplies (medical supplies\, tactical equipment\, food). \nWe chose to raise funds for BSI because they are the most active\, fast-moving group we’ve found that is consolidating the various Venmo/GoFundMe drives for individual IDF units circulating recently. Rather than raise and allocate funds to separate initiatives ourselves\, we feel that BSI knows how to do this best. We’ve seen the startup offices turned into warehouses or mass kitchens on Zoom and are inspired by their work. \nhttps://www.brothersandsistersforisrael.org/ \nFor any questions\, reach out to any of the hosts:\nJosh Kadden | Gaby Goldberg | Ryan Daniels | Dan Fine | Matt Schkolnick | Nate Rosen | Brian Sirgutz | Seth Rosenberg | Dylan Itzikowitz | Ben Futoriansky | Kayla Menkes | Jenny Fielding | Ron Miasnik | Adam Low | Cole Rotman | Aviv Lazar | Britt Levy | Sigalit Perelson

DESCRIPTION:Join 2239 at the Museum of Failure at Georgetown Park\, followed by a short Havdalah service!\n\n\nJoin 2239 on October 21st at 4pm for an outing to the Museum of Failure at Georgetown Park. \nMaking mistakes is a fact of life—and that’s not a bad thing. We will learn about how dozens of failed products and services led to great inventions and other major successes. After touring the exhibit\, we will discuss how learning from our mistakes is also a Jewish idea. We will close the program with a short and sweet Havdalah service. \nSpace is limited\, so reserve your spot now! \nhttps://thefailuremuseum.com/washington-dc/

Witness the laughs\, the “awws\,” and the occasional super embarrassing childhood story as each friend gets their shining moment in the spotlight. After the presentations\, stay for a reverse happy hour to mingle and chat with the very same friends who were just showcased. Don’t miss the chance to spark some romance\, laughter\, and unexpected connections! \n \n7:30pm: Doors open – get yourself a seat and pick up some popcorn and movie snacks \n8pm: 90 minutes of pitches on stage emceed by Tribe 12’s matchmaking apprentices\, Carly Goldberg and Ross Beroff \n9:30pm: Reverse happy hour – have a glass of wine and shmooze with the now-famous friends from the presentations \n \nWho is this event for? The people being pitched will be in Tribe 12’s demographic: people in their 20s and 30s who are dating in Philly’s Jewish community….. but ANYONE can be a member of the audience and ANYONE can pitch! Picture a married couple pitching their somehow-still-single friend\, two people who used to date pitching each other\, a group of longtime friends pitching their bestie\, a grandmother pitching her grandson… sky’s the limit! Like all things at Tribe 12\, this event is queer\, gender\, kink and poly affirming. Visit tribe12.org/matchmaking to learn more about our matchmaking program and philosophy. \n \n$5 in advance / $10 at the door. If you pitch a friend\, you come for free! Not sure you have a friend capable of presenting your awesomeness? For a $100 donation to Tribe 12\, one of our matchmakers will work directly with you to create a presentation and pitch you!

SUMMARY:1000 STRONG - Support the IDF and the Victims of Terror
DESCRIPTION:Introducing 1\,000 STRONG\, a monumental rooftop fundraiser on Thursday night\, October 19th. 1\,000+ Israel supporters will gather to raise crucial funds for front line IDF soldiers and the victims of the Sukkot Massacre. Our mission is clear: to provide immediate support to those in need\, and we’re directing 100% of the proceeds to four grassroots charities that are in dire need. All event expenses are covered by volunteers and event hosts. Our goal is to raise $100\,000 in one night. \nJoin us for an evening of unity\, compassion\, and generosity\, where your participation can be the catalyst for life-saving support. Expect to hear from community leaders\, prominent voices and survivors of the attack. We will light candles\, lock arms and sing along with well-known performers and singers. \nThe four charities we designated\, which are independently verified and close to home for many of us\, are as follows: \nKibbutz Karmiya was devastated by Hamas. Families lost their homes\, their loved ones and their peace. We made contact with Danielle Biton\, a resident of Kibbutz Karmiya\, to provide much needed support to the displaced families. We couldn’t think of a more fitting place to uplift. Hear Danielle’s recount of the terror attacks here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CyLkkeOINrG/ \nReservist Soldiers\, true heroes and our friends\, have left behind their American lives\, homes\, and career to stand on the front lines to secure Israel’s security and rescue the hostages. This monumental draft\, the largest since the Yom Kippur War\, has brought a pressing need for essential supplies\, food\, and equipment. Elite units\, such as the ‏אגוז\, ‏דובדבן\, צנחנים will receive vital funds. \nKol HaNearim has been a lifeline for thousands of orphans and disadvantaged children year-round. In the wake of the massacre\, the group leaders of the houses have been called to reservist duty\, or\, tragically\, lost in the attacks. Now\, Kol HaNearim urgently needs our help to rebuild its team\, and ensure these children continue to receive care. Learn More Here: https://www.kolhanearim.org. \nBulletProof Israel\, led by Remi Franklin\, has specialized knowledge in manufacturing and transporting military equipment. In the wake of the attacks\, BulletProof Israel is concentrating its efforts to produce as many bulletproof vests as possible\, which is severely under-supplied at the moment. We must ensure that our fighters have the equipment they need. Learn more here: https://bulletproofisrael.square.site. \nIn a time of such darkness\, 1\,000 STRONG will be a shining light of hope and support. \nTogether\, we are 1\,000 STRONG \nעם ישראל חי????????
