DESCRIPTION:We’re bringing back some of last year’s favorites and introducing you to community artists brand new to the ShavuART scene. That’s right: ShavuART is back! Join us for a festival celebration of art and learning filled with hands-on visual arts workshops led by local young adult artists!  \nThe holiday of Shavuot (which begins on the evening of Tuesday\, June 11th)\, is traditionally celebrated by engaging in Jewish learning. At The Well\, we believe that tapping into your creative side is inherently full of learning – learning about yourself\, about the creative process\, and about the artistic techniques and tools you’re using!  \nOur afternoon will include two rounds of workshops that you’ll select in advance (in a follow up survey after registration)\, plus a bonus learning session with Rabbi Jeff\, and of course\, snacks and drinks along the way!Note: The full list of workshops and facilitating artists will be available soon! \nDue to the generosity of donors\, subsidized tickets are available for $25 per person and include all art materials\, instruction from the artists\, and nosh. DESCRIPTION:Ecstatic Omer is a dance ritual\, integrating a live DJ set by Stuart B Meyers\, immersive video installation designed by Shira Inbar\, a sound bath by Chaya Glaser\, and an embodied practice for the Jewish tradition of counting the days of the Omer. This ritual through movement takes place on the 38th day of the 49-day cycle known as the Omer in Jewish tradition. \nThe Omer marks the period between the holiday of Passover (which commemorates exodus and physical liberation) and the holiday of Shavuot (which celebrates the revelation of the Torah and Jewish law as a point of spiritual liberation.) Join us as we dance our way over this bridge within the Jewish calendar. \nJewish mysticism associates each day of the Omer with a particular combination of sefirot or divine emanations. Throughout the evening\, we will welcome in the 38th day of the Omer\, which corresponds to the values of Tiferet (magnificence) and Yesod (foundation)\, immersing ourselves in the colors and visual motifs that Kabbalah assigns to these elements. \nKabbalah associates each of these emanations with a particular color. You are invited to come wearing the colors of Tiferet (purple) and Yesod(orange).
