SUMMARY:Pour Your Heart Out: A Wine Tasting and Storytelling Event
DESCRIPTION:Many a comparison can be drawn between winemaking and the Jewish LGBTQ+ experience\, and we’re not just saying that because we want to throw a wine tasting event. Think about it…Just as there are countless varietals of wine\, each with its own flavor profile and history\, the LGBTQ+ community is made up of diverse identities and personal stories. Then there’s the concept of terroir —how a wine’s flavor is influenced by its environment—sound familiar? And lest we forget that grapes must often withstand adverse conditions to produce wine\, just like the LGBTQ+ community’s resilience and adaptivity. Ok\, now that we’ve established that a wine tasting is the perfect way to dive into talking about the Jewish LGBTQ+ experience\, we would like to formally invite you to a wine tasting and storytelling event featuring four fabulous wines and four equally fabulous community members who will share their stories. Heavy apps will be served\, and there will be plenty of time to socialize. \nThis event is being offered at no cost. Please consider making a donation to Federation’s 2024 Annual Campaign if you have not done so this year. You can donate here. \nPlease RSVP no later than May 16. \nThank you to our hosts: Carolyn & Jim Bellinson \nThank you to our leadership: \nKerri Lanoue & Brian Kutinsky\, Pride Co-Chairs \nBill Goldstein\, Affinities Department Chair

DESCRIPTION:All your wholesale dreams are about to come true! Join NEXTWork\, NEXTGen Detroit’s top-tier networking program\, at the new Costco Business Center! The retail giant is welcoming us with a tour of the new store and giving us the opportunity to hear from Costco’s marketing team about what exactly the difference is between a “business center” and a traditional Costco\, why they decided to open one in Metro Detroit and how they are introducing this new option to our community. And it wouldn’t be NEXTWork without ample time to network\, so get ready to make some new connections. \n$15 per person includes bagels and coffee. A kosher option is available upon request. \nRSVP by May 15 to receive a Kirkland swag bag. \nThis event is intended for young adults ages 21 – 39. \nThank you to our NEXTWork Co-Chairs: \nAndrew Luckoff \nMatt Luckoff \nShelby Miller \nAndrew Moss \nMichael Pogoda \nAbby Rubin \nNEXTWork is brought to you by Gesher Human Services and NEXTGen Detroit.
