It teaches social justice through Holocaust lessons\, educating participants about the dangers of hate and intolerance to foster empathy and social responsibility. \nOn Sunday\, May 5 at 10:00 AM\, we will begin with a candlelighting ceremony\, followed by brunch (co-sponsored by the Men’s Club) featuring remarks from Rabbi Alan Bell. We will then participate in the Butterfly Project\, painting ceramic butterflies which will be displayed at Temple Beth El as symbols of resilience and hope. In this way\, we will remember the 1.5 million children who lost their lives during the Holocaust\, commemorate the 6 million who perished\, and honor all Holocaust survivors. Before the event\, we will have a minyan at 9:00 AM. \nSuggested donation: $18 per person \nJoin us to honor the victims of the Holocaust and commit to fighting against hate and intolerance in our world today. Welcome to ‘The Club’\n\n\nWelcome to Miami Sephardic Club’s third annual “Mimouna Party”! Our Mimouna has been Miami’s largest Jewish YP event for Passover for the last two years and this year’s event will be even larger. In fact\, this is the largest Mimouna in the United States. \nFor those who don’t know\, a Mimouna is a Moroccan tradition celebrated by Jews primarily in Morocco\, Israel\, France\, and other Moroccan and Algerian Jewish communities. The celebration begins after nightfall on the last day of Passover. Typically\, families open their homes to visitors and set out a lavish spread of holiday cakes and sweets. It is known to be a festive environment filled with good music and company. \nOur event will take place as soon as Passover ends (Tuesday\, Apr 30). There will be abundant drinks\, sweets\, muffalettas and other Moroccan deserts. We are bringing in a notable Moroccan DJ to get the vibe right. Plan to arrive at 9 pm and dress Moroccan Formal. This party will go on all night. \n \nEvent updates for 2024:\n \n\nWe are moving this event indoor this year – By popular demand\, this event will be indoor in an air conditioned space. Florida’s weather can be unpredictable\, especially during this time of year. It’s important for our guests to feel comfortable all night. Fortunately\, our location does not have a limitation on event end and noise levels so lets expect a long and exciting night!\n\n\nWe will keep the event space secret until day of event – Strictly for security purposes. Check your emails in the days leading up to event (in between chag) to know where to go. We’ll take the most strict security praucatuions to keep all guests safe.\nDress code is “Moroccan Formal” – Dress the part. Moroccan Formal is up to your interpretation. Be creative. Men and woman are expected to dress formal for our Mimouna. Dress to impress.
