SUMMARY:Dating\, Desire\, and the Divine
DESCRIPTION:Sex isn’t a topic we talk about in public very often\, and even less is said about how it intersects with spirituality. What does Judaism actually say about pleasure? Is sex a spiritual act? How do we navigate ethics in modern relationships—monogamy\, polyamory\, and everything in between? \nDrawing from the Torah\, the Talmud\, and contemporary voices\, Rabbi Jenna is your hookup to all your juiciest questions about hooking up. Explore how Jewish tradition has understood bodies\, desire\, boundaries\, and connection—and where it leaves room for reinterpretation and resistance. This is a space for honest conversation about how we build relationships\, what we want\, what we struggle with\, and what it might mean to bring intention or even holiness into those dynamics. \nNo one will be turned away from any of our classes due to lack of funds. For more information\, please contact our Jewish Life Associate\, Robyn Fishman\, rfishman@sixthandi.org \nPlease note: tickets are non-refundable.

SUMMARY:Senator Chris Murphy
DESCRIPTION:Sen. Murphy views the Trump administration’s assaults on democracy as a symptom of a deeper crisis: the abandonment of the common good as our country’s organizing principle. In Crisis of the Common Good: The Fight for Meaning and Connection in a Broken America\, he draws on history and political philosophy to expose how six different cults have paved the way to our current troubles: a cult of profit that punishes workers\, a cult of globalism that weakens communities\, a cult of technology that turns us against one another\, a cult of consumption that undermines citizenship\, a cult of credentialism that devalues those without degrees\, and a cult of corruption that threatens democracy. \nwith Politics and Prose Bookstore \nEvents at Sixth & I \n\nSeating is primarily general admission; first-come\, first-served. SUMMARY:NADAV's Celebration & Farewell Concert
DESCRIPTION:After playing music in Boston for the last 4 years\, this is going to be my ‘Farewell concert’\, a final live performance before moving back to Haifa. It will feature a new collaborative band with Itay Dayan\, Debuting new music and old favorites from both our repertoires \nAbout Nadav\nNadav Brenner (b. 2000) is a Boston-based guitarist\, composer\, and singer-songwriter. With an extensive jazz education and some Israeli chutzpah\, Nadav doesn’t shy away from any music that catches his ears. He is currently engaged in indie folk\, Klezmer\, contemporary classical music\, modern jazz\, and improvised music. After receiving “Outstanding Musician” status in the IDF and performing at top jazz venues in Tel Aviv (Beit Ha’amudim\, Shablul)\, Nadav received a scholarship to study Jazz Composition at NEC\, working with Frank Carlberg and Jason Moran. He has been fortunate to play with Dave Holland\, Tim Berne\, and others\, and to perform his music throughout Boston and New York\, leading ensembles ranging from duos and trios to big band. As a side-person\, Nadav performs regularly with the KDF Big Band\, the Itay Dayan Quartet\, and the Jeff Sagurton Quintet\, as well as various ad-hoc groups at Wally’s and NEC recitals.Nadav graduated from Reut High School for the Arts with honors\, double majoring in jazz performance and contemporary composition. At the same time\, his trio performed extensively in Haifa. He continued his studies at the Tel Aviv Conservatory\, taking lessons with Anat Fort. After leaving the conservatory due to the COVID-19 pandemic\, Nadav continued studying with Anat and stayed active in the Tel Aviv scene until moving to Boston. \n \nSponsored By BackRoom Boston at The Boston Synagogue\nCo-Sponsored by:\nCJP\nBoston Festival of New Jewish Music
