SUMMARY:Shavuot: Bites & Bite-Sized Torah
DESCRIPTION:Join Rabbinic Intern Adina\, Rachel\, and Izzy for a night of delicious food and bite-sized Torah study at the Weitzman. We plan to serve a dairy-filled dinner in celebration of Shavuot. For our Torah study\, we ask that everyone chooses 1-2 verses (sentences) of Torah before the event that relate to their lives – whether it be their hobbies\, their values\, their job/school\, etc. During the program\, everyone will have a few minutes to teach their verse of Torah to small groups and explain how it relates to their life! If you don’t have time to prepare or don’t know where to begin to prep your verse\, we will have plenty available at the event that you can choose from. On Sefaria\, you can search by topic to find a verse that speaks to you!

Now it’s your turn! \n  \n\nWHO’S IT FOR? \n\n\nDo you work at a Jewish organization in New York City\, Long Island\, or Westchester? This is for you. 👍🏻 Are you feeling burned out? (there\, we said it). This is definitely for you. 🔥 Was your OOO last used in 2025 or earlier? This is for you. 🗓 Are you a seasoned executive with decades of experience? Mazels. This is still for you. 🏆 Do you need to be Jewish to attend? Nope. As long as you work at a Jewish communal org in Greater NY\, this is for you. ✨ \nWhether you’re at a Hillel\, Federation\, synagogue\, day school\, summer camp\, foundation\, think tank\, start-up or are just brushing up your resumé… this is for you. Work remotely for a national organization but live in NYC\, Long Island\, or Westchester? NY Day Camp is also for you! ⚡️ \nIt’s also for your team. We believe deeply in cross-functional collaboration and the power of deepening relationships outside of our normal contexts. That’s why we’re lowering the price for organizations that send multiple colleagues. It’s like going on a team offsite that you don’t have to plan! So set that org-wide OOO and join us at camp!

SUMMARY:Senator Chris Murphy
DESCRIPTION:Sen. Murphy views the Trump administration’s assaults on democracy as a symptom of a deeper crisis: the abandonment of the common good as our country’s organizing principle. In Crisis of the Common Good: The Fight for Meaning and Connection in a Broken America\, he draws on history and political philosophy to expose how six different cults have paved the way to our current troubles: a cult of profit that punishes workers\, a cult of globalism that weakens communities\, a cult of technology that turns us against one another\, a cult of consumption that undermines citizenship\, a cult of credentialism that devalues those without degrees\, and a cult of corruption that threatens democracy. \nwith Politics and Prose Bookstore \nEvents at Sixth & I \n\nSeating is primarily general admission; first-come\, first-served. There are some partial view seats on the balcony level. Display screens supplement sightlines.\nThere are a limited number of premium reserved seats on the main level and balcony. Reserved seating is also available to Sixth & I donors at select giving levels.\nClick here for directions to our historic building.\nFor details about accessible seating and entry\, click here.\nClick here to review our event policies\, security procedures\, and food and beverage policies.\nClick here for step-by-step instructions to transfer your ticket to someone else.\nClick here for step-by-step instructions to transfer your in-person ticket to a virtual ticket.

SUMMARY:NADAV's Celebration & Farewell Concert
DESCRIPTION:After playing music in Boston for the last 4 years\, this is going to be my ‘Farewell concert’\, a final live performance before moving back to Haifa. It will feature a new collaborative band with Itay Dayan\, Debuting new music and old favorites from both our repertoires \nAbout Nadav\nNadav Brenner (b. 2000) is a Boston-based guitarist\, composer\, and singer-songwriter. With an extensive jazz education and some Israeli chutzpah\, Nadav doesn’t shy away from any music that catches his ears. He is currently engaged in indie folk\, Klezmer\, contemporary classical music\, modern jazz\, and improvised music. After receiving “Outstanding Musician” status in the IDF and performing at top jazz venues in Tel Aviv (Beit Ha’amudim\, Shablul)\, Nadav received a scholarship to study Jazz Composition at NEC\, working with Frank Carlberg and Jason Moran. He has been fortunate to play with Dave Holland\, Tim Berne\, and others\, and to perform his music throughout Boston and New York\, leading ensembles ranging from duos and trios to big band. As a side-person\, Nadav performs regularly with the KDF Big Band\, the Itay Dayan Quartet\, and the Jeff Sagurton Quintet\, as well as various ad-hoc groups at Wally’s and NEC recitals.Nadav graduated from Reut High School for the Arts with honors\, double majoring in jazz performance and contemporary composition. At the same time\, his trio performed extensively in Haifa. He continued his studies at the Tel Aviv Conservatory\, taking lessons with Anat Fort. After leaving the conservatory due to the COVID-19 pandemic\, Nadav continued studying with Anat and stayed active in the Tel Aviv scene until moving to Boston. \n \nSponsored By BackRoom Boston at The Boston Synagogue\nCo-Sponsored by:\nCJP\nBoston Festival of New Jewish Music
