An environmentally beneficial solution to weed control\, we rent out goats to clear public and private land. Whether you have an acre or an overgrown backyard\, our goats would be eager to eat your weeds and aid in fire prevention naturally. When they are not out on the job our herd lives on pasture in San Francisco’s Bayview district between the SF Bay Railroad and Bay Natives Nursery. \nMore info at www.citygrazing.org \nAbout Value Culture \nLaunched by SF Native Adam Swig in 2019\, the mission of Value Culture is to produce and support artistic\, educational\, charitable\, and spiritual events to inspire the next generation to give back to their communities. \nWe want to partner with you. We want to empower you. Whether you’re a for-profit business\, individual\, or a non profit organization\, we want to help you achieve your community\, cultural\, and philanthropic goals. \nMajor cities across the USA are becoming transient hubs with local identities and values lost amongst the new masses. Rather than civic\, community\, and cultural growth\, this generation is encompassed with their own professional growth\, experiences\, and wealth. \nValue Culture is taking on this mission of engaging this generational cultural shift by bringing back and pushing cultural values forward in our ever globalizing world in an accessible manner. \nMore info at www.valueculture.org \nAbout Snap Fiesta \nCapturing experiences since 2011. SnapFiesta was developed from a vision of combining a modern photo studio setting with the nostalgic whimsy of an old-fashioned photo booth. Fast forward 8 years to SnapFiesta making its mark – embracing innovative technology and interactive art to create engaging brand experiences and exciting social events. \nBased in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Serving all markets nationwide. \nCall us for your next event and join the fiesta!!! More info at www.snapfiesta.com \nAbout The East Cut \nThe East Cut is one of San Francisco’s fastest-growing neighborhoods\, evolving from a transit hub into a vibrant\, mixed-use community where residents\, workers\, and visitors come together. With striking high-rises\, thriving small businesses\, and reimagined public spaces like The Crossing at East Cut\, the neighborhood offers a dynamic urban experience rooted in both innovation and history. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganizers note: By RSVPing\, we the organizers\, Value Culture\, City Grazing\, SnapFiesta\, and the Crossing at East Cut are not responsible for any personal injury incurred at the event\, or following the event. SUMMARY:Interfaith Social Justice Book Club: Still Born
DESCRIPTION:Dive into powerful literature alongside community members of B’nai Jeshurun and St. Paul & St. Andrew\, as we join together in exploring books that amplify social justice themes. Each month\, we’ll gather together in person to reflect on and discuss our monthly read. We’ll read both fiction and nonfiction works that wrestle with the intersecting injustices we collectively face. \nThis month we’re reading *Still Born* by Guadalupe Nettel\, translated by Rosalind Harvey. *Still Born* is the story of two independent and career-driven women in their mid-thirties\, neither of whom have built their future around the prospect of a family. One has taken the drastic decision to be sterilised\, but as time goes by the other becomes drawn to the idea of becoming a mother.

SUMMARY:Virtual Book Talk: The Extraordinary Story of “Hester Street”
DESCRIPTION:Join author Dr. Julia Wagner on Sunday\, February 8th at 2pm Eastern Time on Zoom to discuss her new book\, Hester Street (BFI Film Classics/Bloomsbury 2025)\, the first book to focus exclusively on Joan Micklin Silver’s films. \nJoan Micklin Silver’s 1975 debut feature film\, Hester Street\, changed the face of Jewish American cinema and forged a path for women in the industry. Marking the film’s 50th anniversary\, Dr. Wagner will explore how this trailblazing Yiddish\, feminist film defied expectations and became an international hit that still delights all these years later. \nHester Street evokes the immigrant experience through the character Gitl (Carol Kane\, whose performance earned her an Academy Award nomination)\, as she steps off the boat from Eastern Europe and into the heart of New York’s Lower East Side in 1896. Reunited with her assimilated husband\, Gitl must adjust to American life and negotiate how much of the old world she can bring into the new. \nJulia’s talk will uncover the fascinatingly rich layers of Yiddish culture in the narrative and will bring vital new insights to an under-appreciated landmark film. \nPlease see the Zoom link in your order confirmation email.
