DESCRIPTION:Who owns the Torah? Who gets to decide how it’s interpreted? The answer is… you! \nJoin us for an hour of fun\, interactive Talmud study led by Queer Yeshiva\, as we discuss radical and queer approaches to traditional Jewish texts through a Talmudic story of Moses arguing with the angels about who the Torah is really for. If you’ve ever been curious about Talmud study but not sure it’s for you\, this relaxed workshop is the perfect opportunity to give it a go. \nNo prior knowledge is required\, but there will be the opportunity to dig into the text in the original Hebrew/Aramaic for anyone who wants to. So whether you’re Talmud-curious or an experienced Yeshivanik we’re excited to welcome you all. \nQueer Yeshiva leads rigorous\, immersive and inclusive Jewish learning in the UK\, wrestling with Jewish knowledge and tradition through an explicitly Queer lens. We unlock Talmud and other sacred texts through events\, courses and resources\, by Queer Jews\, for Queer Jews. \nA booking fee of £2 and a security levy of £1.50 will be added to all orders. DESCRIPTION:June is Pride Month\, and our LGBTQ+ Group is celebrating this evening! We modified the schedule to help accommodate our young professionals\, so Shabbat activities start a little later.\n \nWe invite you to end your week and welcome Shabbat with us!\nAt 6:30 pm and again after the service: Have something to eat (to tide you over or as your dinner)\, a drink (we offer a full bar\, plus non-alcoholic options)\, and connect with your community. \nKids are always welcome\, and they’ll be able to eat before (and after) the service\, play Connect 4\,  or create at a coloring table. \n7:00 pm – Our Shabbat service begins. \nWatch the Livestream \nAfter the service – Stay for dessert\, or more food and drinks! \nRegistration for the 2239 dinner coming soon! \nSpecial thanks to our musicians who add so much to the service. DESCRIPTION:Shabbat Shalom! The Riverway Project of Temple Israel invites you to join us for our once-monthly Riverway Shabbat on Friday\, June 12. Registration coming soon! \nOur musical and inclusive Riverway Shabbat service will begin at 8:00pm\, followed by a chance to schmooze over drinks and desserts with old and new friends. The service and the dessert reception will remain open to anyone in their 20s &30s\, free of charge. For those joining us online\, the livestream of our service will begin at 8:00 p.m. \nJoin us for dinner* beginning at 6:45pm. We are pleased to cover the cost of this dinner for members of Temple Israel\, though we always welcome voluntary contributions. For non-members\, we ask for $18 to help offset the cost of food and drink. \nMembership at Temple Israel is a great way to deepen your relationship with this community\, to stand up and be counted\, and to affirm your investment in vibrant\, accessible\, intergenerational Jewish space. Membership rates for young adults start at only $36 for your first year and if there is a hardship\, just let us know. If you are considering becoming a TI Member\, we’d love to welcome you into the family. You can find more information here. \nThis event and the Riverway Project are open to all in their 20s and 30s in the Boston area. \n*Dinner at the Riverway Project is always kosher-style but not certified kosher. Each month\, we’ll gather together in person to reflect on and discuss our monthly read. We’ll read both fiction and nonfiction works that wrestle with the intersecting injustices we collectively face. \nThis month we’re reading *Wild Dark Shore* by Charlotte McConaghy. Dominic Salt and his three children are caretakers of Shearwater\, a tiny island not far from Antarctica. Home to the world’s largest seed bank\, Shearwater was once full of researchers\, but with sea levels rising\, the Salts are now its final inhabitants. Then\, during the worst storm the island has ever seen\, a woman mysteriously washes ashore.
