About J Street
J Street organizes and mobilizes pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans who want Israel to be secure, democratic, and the national home of the Jewish people. Working in American politics and the Jewish community, the organization advocates policies that advance shared US and Israeli interests as well as Jewish and democratic values, leading to a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Founded in 2008 by Jeremy Ben-Ami, J Street has a two-fold mission: first, to advocate for urgent American diplomatic leadership to achieve a two-state solution and a broader regional, comprehensive peace; and second, to ensure a broad debate on Israel and the Middle East in American politics and the Jewish community.
Headquartered in Washington, DC, J Street engages in lobbying, political organizing, and campus and community education through programs and chapters across the United States. Its work spans federal advocacy, a connected political action committee (JStreetPAC), and a national student movement (J Street U).
