About Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle

The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle is the central Jewish communal organization serving the Puget Sound region. The Federation nurtures a vibrant Jewish community by bringing people together across generations and backgrounds through a wide range of events and initiatives, working to make Jewish life accessible to everyone in the region.

The Federation’s work spans local community-building, overseas impact, leadership development, and Israel engagement. Signature programs include the Francine R. Loeb Leadership Institute, a year-long fellowship for individuals aged 28–42 ready to deepen their involvement in Jewish communal life, as well as SpringBoard young leadership, the Young Couples Initiative, Menschworks volunteer service, and PJ Library, which provides free Jewish books for children.

Internationally, the Federation funds programs like Selah, the Jewish Agency’s flagship residential absorption program for young immigrants to Israel from the former Soviet Union, alongside other overseas grants supporting Jewish communities in Israel and around the world. Domestically, it provides resources and education on countering antisemitism, K-12 Jewish education, and security for the Seattle-area Jewish community.

Led by President & CEO Solly Kane, a longtime Jewish communal executive, the Federation serves as a connector and resource for synagogues, agencies, and individuals across Greater Seattle.
