Maryland Nonprofits

Maryland Nonprofits is a statewide membership association headquartered in Baltimore that has spent more than three decades championing nonprofit organizations throughout Maryland. The organization works to build a thriving, effective, and equitable nonprofit sector by aligning organizational culture, capacity, and governance with strategic priorities grounded in equity, inclusion, and belonging.

The association offers customized consulting, training, and capacity-building support to its members, including strategic planning, board training, fundraising assistance, and governance guidance. Maryland Nonprofits is also the proud home of the Standards for Excellence Institute, which equips organizations nationwide with tools and guidance to meet the highest standards in nonprofit governance, management, and operations.

Beyond direct member services, Maryland Nonprofits leads sector research across the state and the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area, producing reports on nonprofit management, economic and social impact, equity issues, operational challenges, and philanthropic trends. The organization also operates a group buying program and advocates on public policy issues affecting the sector, such as the Fair Share for Maryland Act.
