Fundamental Philanthropy, Inc. (FPI) is a Beverly Hills–based boutique consultancy founded in 2013 by Rachel Levin, a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in philanthropy and politics. The firm works with individuals, families, foundations, and organizations to help them use their financial and other resources to build a more just, equitable, and connected world.

Fundamental’s services span the full arc of philanthropic strategy: creating infrastructure for private and family foundations, developing long- and short-term giving strategies, managing grant portfolios, launching issue campaigns, incubating new projects, and advising on political giving. Clients have included The Hearthland Foundation and the Righteous Persons Foundation — the latter being a fund Steven Spielberg established in 1995 with profits from Schindler’s List.
