29th Annual Jewish Film Festival -Iron Ladies / Fiddler on the Moon-Matinee

Organizer: JCC of Dallas
Ages 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s+

Double Feature:

The previously untold story of a group of young Jewish housewives who, at the height of the Cold War, took on the might of the USSR in defense of the rights and freedoms of Soviet Jews… and won. The 35s were an international network of women with no political power or experience, who simply refused to stand idle in the face of Soviet tyranny and persecution of their co-religionists, the Refuseniks.

As more Jews become astronauts, one question becomes unavoidable: how do you observe the Sabbath and high holidays in space? This charming short documentary explores the answer, along with plenty of fascinating insights into Jewish astronauts and scientists as well as Judaism itself. Featuring Neil deGrasse Tyson, astronauts Jeffrey Hoffman and Jessica Meir, and a quorum of rabbis and researchers.
