I’m excited to be organizing an Effective Altruism and Judaism Shabbat Dinner with Yael Friedman this Friday night (10/27) in LA! The dinner is being organized in partnership with Effective Altruism for Jews (EAforJews.org), a global community of Jews coming together to help tackle the world’s most pressing problems effectively. At the dinner, we hope to explore questions such as:

1. What do Jewish texts and tradition have to say about our obligations to the global poor, animals, and future generations?
2. Is there a uniquely “Jewish” approach to doing good?
3. How should we balance concern for Jewish priorities vs. global priorities?
