Elevate Shabbat Presents: Queen of Persia The Purim Shabbat
ABOUT THIS EVENT
On Purim, we celebrate the power of hidden miracles, feminine courage, and collective joy. Queen of Persia is an immersive Purim evening honoring the legacy of the Book of Esther, the Jewish roots of Persia (modern-day Iran), and the mystical themes of revelation, resilience, and transformation.
Like Esther herself, this night moves between worlds — upstairs and downstairs, hidden and revealed, sacred and celebratory. Expect an evening layered with ritual, Persian-inspired flavors, music, movement, and moments of surprise.
We’ll gather in costume (bold, royal, expressive encouraged ✨) to mark a night where fate turns, masks fall, and joy becomes a mitzvah.
7:00–8:00 PM | Happy Hour + Surprise Acts
Begin the night with drinks, Persian-inspired bites, and unexpected performances woven throughout the space — a nod to Purim’s playful chaos and joy.
8:15 PM | Purim Prayers in the Loft
We ascend for a moment of intention and ritual: Purim prayers, storytelling, and reflection inspired by Esther, Vashti, and the unseen forces that shape our paths.
8:30 PM | Dinner Downstairs
A communal feast unfolds below, grounding us in abundance, connection, and the joy of gathering — a central mitzvah of Purim.
9:00 PM | Dance Performance
A live dance performance draws from Persian movement and storytelling, embodying themes of strength, beauty, and divine timing.
10:00 PM–Late | Dancing in the Loft
We return upstairs as the night turns ecstatic — music, movement, and celebration flowing freely into late-night Purim joy.
