About Young(ish) at Beth Sholom:

All are welcome! Young(ish) at Congregation Beth Sholom is a group of adults in their 20s to early 40s who meet 1-2 times a month around programming tailored to catalyze social relationships, strengthen Jewish identities, and build community. We are not defined by whether we have a partner or children. Rather, we are young, Jewish professionals who are defined by a desire to be, schmooze, learn, drink, eat, and do Jewish together.

Young(ish) events include opportunities to spend time with other Bay Area Jews in meaningful ways. Examples include monthly Happy Hours, holiday events, Shabbat dinners, yoga, and book clubs. Young(ish) is inclusive and vibrant. Members are encouraged to be themselves while deepening their connection to Judaism.

About Sha’ar Zahav (Hebrew for Golden Gate) and their Young adult group, The Kaf Lameds (Hebrew for 20s-30s)

Founded in 1977 and rooted in our history as San Francisco’s gay and lesbian synagogue, we offer the warmth and comfort of chosen family. To that end, we embrace individuals of all sexualities, genders, races and abilities. We welcome a diversity of families, including single members, interfaith, single-parent, and multicultural families.

The Kaf Lameds meet regularly to socialize, learn and discuss to enrich belonging. Guided by our shared, ever-evolving set of practices, we inspire each other to advance justice, equality and compassion. We meet occasionally to have informal check-ins, host discussions and learning sessions, light Shabbat candles, eat dinner together, and celebrate holidays.
