What draws people to each other? Why do we love the people we love? What is a good marriage?
In “Roasted Sweet Potatoes,” playwright Justine Borer explores how these questions play out in the Jewish community. Set in 1990s New Jersey, it is the story of how twentysomething Dalia navigates romantic love in the context of her traditional Jewish parents’ complicated marriage.
Justine is a professor at the City University of New York, where she teaches law, philosophy, and writing, and a Small Claims Court arbitrator.
The event will take place at the 14th St. Y in Manhattan.
