Uncovering Barcelona’s Jewish History. One-time Event
Join Olga on this one time live stream tour to walk narrow streets of Barcelona and uncover the city’s fascinating Jewish history. You’ll stroll around the neighborhood, which was the city’s Jewish quarter in the 14th century and see one of the oldest synagogues of Europe. Although most of the buildings, which once belonged to the vibrant and vast Jewish community were torn down hundreds of years ago, the Synagoga Mayor has been excavated and reopened.

On this one-time event, you’ll explore the history of the Sephardic Jews. Who are they? How are they different from the Ashkenazi Jews? Their footprint on the medieval Barcelona was vast indeed. Sadly enough, the big and thriving city’s Jewish community was massacred in the 14th century. For the next six centuries the Jews were non-existent in Barcelona. That’s a well-known fact. But is it really so? As you walk the old narrow streets that still keep several traces of the Barcelona Jewish community Olga will share with you recently uncovered fascinating historical facts.

More so, as on most of her tours, Olga will build several interesting connections between Odessa’s Jewish community and Barcelona’s Jewry. Join Olga for this one-time event to start exploring the history of the Barcelona Jewish community and see one of the oldest synagogues in Europe.
