Gratitude Shabbat Dinner

Come celebrate Shabbat with us! Enjoy beautiful rituals, live music and a tasty buffet from Wise Sons at the JCCSF. This special Shabbat is all about gratitude – appreciating our friends, family and all the wonderful blessings in our lives.
Reconnect with old friends, make some new ones and invite your whole crew for the sweetest Shabbat in San Francisco – it’s going to be a night filled with warmth, laughter and joy. Don’t miss dessert with special guest teacher, Yael Kanarek, founder of Beit Toratah, as she explores ancient stories reimagined with women at the center.
EVENT SCHEDULE
5:00 – 6:00 PM: TOT SHABBAT PIZZA PARTY (AGES 0 – 5 YEARS)

5:45 – 6:30 PM: SHABBAT RITUALS – FOR ALL
Everyone joins JCCSF’s Rabbi Batshir Torchio for vibrant Shabbat rituals, followed by tunes for all ages from musician Jonathan Bayer.
6:30 – 8:30 PM: SHABBAT DINNER BY WISE SONS
Gather with friends, family and community for a hearty buffet dinner after our Shabbat rituals and live music. The menu includes challah, salad, chicken or vegetarian entrée, rice pilaf, roasted veggies and dessert. Wine is included with each adult ticket. Kids may enjoy the buffet or grab a slice of pizza, then hang out in our Shabbat Lounge hosted by JCCSF Camp with books, crafts and games.
7:45 – 8:30 PM: TORATAH STUDY – PORTION VATERA (TRADITIONALLY VAYERA)
Drop-in for dessert and a taste of Toratah with a discussion led by Israeli-American artist Yael Kanarek, founder of Beit Toratah, a groundbreaking project reimagining the Torah by reversing all genders, placing women at the center of our sacred stories and men into the domestic sphere. In this transformative approach, divine inspiration flows through matriarchal lineage, offering fresh perspectives to explore and connect with Judaism in new and meaningful ways.
