Psychedelic Yom Kippur at the Chicago Botanic Gardens

Psychedelic Yom Kippur
Not your zayde’s day of atonement… unless your zayde is Rick Strassman.
Psychedelic Synagogue invites you to our 4th Annual Psychedelic Yom Kippur gathering.
Together, we’ll explore Jewish values and self-improvement through altered states of consciousness, using a mix of reflective and experiential practices.
The day may include:
• Breathwork
• Improv & play
• Journaling & lucid dream work
• Movement & dance
• Guided conversations
• The science of consciousness
• (Optional) medicine-supported practices
💬 “I had no idea what to expect when I came last year. What I found was laughter, goofy moments, surprisingly deep reflection, and a group of people I left feeling deeply connected to. Highly recommend keeping an open mind — you’ll be delighted you did.”
— past participant Shaily Hakimian Armstrong, ChiTribe Board Chair.
All are welcome—including those who abstain from medicine.
Important Note: We do NOT provide or distribute any substances. Participation in all activities is voluntary and attendees are responsible for their own wellbeing and choices. If you are fasting and need to step aside to eat, do your thing — we honor the spirit of the day, not the shame.
💡 Scholarships available: message us to apply for a merit-based discount or free ticket.
