Responding to Anti-Jewish Hate on College Campuses

Antisemitic incidents increased over 900% on U.S. college campuses in the month following the Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel. Over the years, places of higher education have increasingly seen anti-Israel discourse turn into incidents of blatant antisemitism, and after October 7, 2023, many Jewish students no longer feel safe. Join moderator Abbey Romanek, Museum Board Vice President; Emily Briskman, Associate Vice President, JUF Campus Affairs & Executive Director, The Hillel of Illinois; Emily White, Director of the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago’s Israel Education Center (IEC); Matt Nosanchuk, Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Department of Education’s Civil Rights Office; and Ethan Less, student, Northwestern University Pre-Medicine in a discussion about anti-Jewish hate on university campuses and learn strategies for effectively addressing it, engaging non-Jewish students in allyship, and supporting Jewish students who face hatred, prejudice, and indifference on their campuses.
