Join us to connect with other Jews in tech, celebrate Shabbat, and explore topics relevant to effective altruism — a social movement dedicated to figuring out how we can do the most good with our limited resources — and Jewish tradition! All are welcome regardless of your familiarity with effective altruism or your relationship with Judaism. This dinner will focus particulalry on avenues for effective social impact for those working in tech (i.e. software engineering, ML, data science, biotech, etc.).

The dinner is being organized in partnership with Effective Altruism for Jews, a global community of Jews coming together to help tackle the world’s most pressing problems effectively.

At the dinner, we hope to explore questions such as:

1. How can people in tech best contribute to solving some of the world’s most pressing problems?
2. What do Jewish texts and tradition have to say about our obligations to the global poor, animals, and future generations?
3. What can we do to most effectively address pressing global problems like global poverty, pandemics, and risks from emerging technologies?
4. How should we balance concern for Jewish priorities vs. global priorities?

The food will be certified kosher and there will be vegan options.
