Tacos & Torah: Shai Held Edition

Join Rabbinic Intern Molly Paul for a special Tacos and Torah. This month’s Tacos and Torah coincides with a special museum event where Rabbi Shai Held discusses his book, Judaism Is About Love. In his book Shai addresses a misinterpretation of the Jewish tradition that has shaped the history of the West: Christianity is the religion of love, and Judaism the religion of law. He shows that love is foundational and constitutive of true Jewish faith, animating the singular Jewish perspective on injustice and protest, grace, family life, responsibilities to our neighbors and even our enemies, and chosenness.

We will gather at 5:45pm ahead of the event for a vegetarian dinner with a text study and discussion on Rabbi Held’s ideas beginning promptly at 6pm. We will then join the museum event at 7pm. This tacos and torah is for anyone interested in learning more about how love is at the center of Jewish, you do not need to have read his book to attend!
