Presentation Description:
Have you ever wondered where your family came from, whether the stories you grew up hearing were true, or if your ancestry could open the door to foreign citizenship? This hands-on workshop is designed for anyone curious about their family’s past—and the real-world opportunities that discovering it can create. Participants will learn the fundamentals of genealogical research, including how to build a family tree usingAncestry.comand how to trace ancestors through key historical records such as censuses, immigration documents, and ship manifests. You’ll gain the tools to begin tracing your family back to Ellis Island and beyond, uncover long-lost relatives, and separate family myth from historical fact. Whether you’re just starting your genealogy journey or exploring how ancestry connects to heritage, identity, and citizenship by descent, this workshop will give you a practical foundation and a roadmap for continued discovery.
Rudi Weinberg is a professional genealogist who helps clients uncover their family’s stories through family trees, records, relationships, and lived experience, all without the need for DNA testing. Whether you’re mapping your ancestry, applying for European citizenship by descent, or planning a heritage trip, Rudi approaches every project with care, precision, and personal investment. This isn’t just research. It’s a way to reclaim what’s been lost, reconnect across generations, and to the people it belongs with.
